    2009 prices

    Went to the yard today and got .22 lb for elect motors and only .35 lb for stainless steel! Last time I got .35 for stainless was in 2009! Looks like we will see prices keep falling.



    Here is some other 2009 #'s hopefully we dont fall below them!
    Al can .35 lb
    Al Ext .42 lb
    Die Cast .10 lb
    Stainless .35 lb
    Alum MLC .33 lb
    #2 Cu 1.90 lb
    Cast Alum .40 lb
    Yellow brass $1.20 lb
    Elect Motors .10 lb
    Sheet iron $100 / net ton

    I got .30 for electric motors at the yard here in town on Wednesday. I don't deal with them on too much stuff anymore unless it is for my own convenience. I only had 672 lbs of small motors. I don't get enough stainless to sort it. The motors were the type you find on printers and such. At this yard they pay the same as small transformers.
    There may a million better places to live than Iowa, but none of them are home!

    electric motors 10 cents a pound, shred $100 ton

    those prices stink


    maybe you need to save up loads to take to phoenix surly they have better yards there or are prices in arizona everywhere that low?

    last time i went to tucson we went to old tucson studios and the meteor crater and up into the mountains on the tram but that was back in the late 80's

    These were 2009 prices to compare with todays prices! Looks like we may see prices get this low before it gets better.
