    Identify These Metals, Please

These gray brackets on the end of the extruded aluminum tubing are non-magnetic and kind of look and feel like cast aluminum. But I suppose they could also be pot metal. I separate them from the extruded tubing (which fetches a bigger price than clean cast aluminum), but are these really clean cast aluminum? These brackets are sourced from satellite dish mounting hardware.

Here's another item sourced from satellite dish mounting hardware. There are two pieces here that are screwed together. They are both metal, non-magnetic and appear to be die cast. But are they aluminum or pot metal? They gray piece I'm holding is very light and slightly rough textured. Almost feels like magnesium, but surely it can't be (and I've never shaved it and taken a torch to the shavings to tell for sure, either. )

Here's an ice maker tray from a freezer. It's non-magnetic and die cast. It's coated with some material that surely protects the potable water/ice from contaminants. But is it cast aluminum or pot metal?

cast magnesium, it looks darker than aluminum. Would have to do a spark test to find out for sure. Its either aluminum or magnesium.

I would pull all the screws out and through it in with my cast aluminum. But thats just me because my yard dosn't know the diffrance. If you have to seperate it then bring it to the yard and ask them, unless you don't trust the guys at the yard, some will try to low ball you.
