Any updates on how things are going......Open for business no issues?
So I noticed the little bit earlier post... "large load", which I know is subjective. I'm curious if the amount was overstated. which once again, is neither here nor there. But I know a full gaylord scales right around 2k. I'm betting a full gaylord of scrap boards doesn't hit 1k. Full RAM, yes, maybe. Just curious if anyone has been able to trip a pallet over 1k gross.
Hello
Thanks for the inquiry. Can you email photos over to info@cashforcomputerscrap.com please? I prefer to put prices in writing over email relating to specific transactions. Thanks!
It would actually surprise me with the power boards. As clumsy looking as they are, you wouldn't think you could pack them in that tight.
I would think 1000 pounds in 1 of the larger gaylords is very doable. I had sent a Full Truckload to Mario about 3 years ago. I had about 4 gaylords of mixed motherboards, finger cards, peripherial, mid low and telecom. I believe there was over 2000 pounds between these catagories. The gaylords I was using were 40" x 40" by about 2 to 2.5' and where octagonal, so you lost some space at all four corners. I currently have multiple gaylords full at my shop. The larger ones are 40"x48" by at least 40". These are full of P4 boards. I'm guessing at least 1000 pounds. Think about it, an average mother board is 1 to 1.25 pounds. 800 to 1000 motherboards and your there. 12 stacks of 80 motherboards, doesn't seem unreasonable when you stack them neatly and alternate them one right. side up, one upside down to save space.
No, but I am better at getting weight estimates. I now don't have to go and scale up a pallet before I send it, like I did last time. Gross was 760 I believe, and it was straight boards. Pre shaken 10 times, and dirt road packed.
But hey, what does an idiot like me know? I drive 100 miles round trip for an empty gaylord, and I still pay for it.
I've been recycling for over 19 years, I e yet to pack more then 700 800lbs of motherboards in a gaylord. Packing nice as well. The avg I get is about 650 to 700lbs that's after rare. Even if it was mix. All you doing is replacing missing motherboards with fi keyboards or telecom.
So if Mario setting you straight. I would not bet against him. He is a honest and straight shooter.
I just got a mixed message here. I get one vote for "no" and one vote for "yes". Not that it matters, but some wires got crossed here.
And I hate the line "I've been doing "x" for "x" years. I absolutely hate it. They called Pluto a planet for how many years? Now it's, oops, we messed up.
How many years have you hated the line? 10+?
Would you say you've been (hating the line) for (10+) years?
>They called Pluto a planet for how many years? Now it's, oops, we messed up.
Yea thats what logical people do when presented with new evidence, they accept they were wrong or uninformed, and move on. Thats whats wrong with most people, they think they are right and wont accept they are wrong no matter the evidence they are presented with (climate change deniers, moon landing hoaxers, flat earthers, etc)......
If someone brings a scale and a gaylord of boards to you, measures it in front of you and it reads over 1000lbs would you accept you were wrong and move on, or would you say "the scale is wrong", "I didnt mean to include the weight of the gaylord", "those aren't the exact type of boards I was talking about" and other such things to try and prove you're right instead of just admitting you were wrong? It's ok to be wrong sometimes.
I'm expected to admit I'm wrong, yet it feels like no feels they can be wrong?
I said boards. Not laptops. Not batteries. Boards.
I said gross. Not net.
For most people that throw assorted boards in gaylord and go I'll stick with most won't break 1000.
Not sure really the point. Literally talking about a swing of a few cents a lb. Generally if you are shipping a pallet or two, most folks use some nice dense product to
A: Sell the product
B: Drive down shipping cost
There are several groupings of supply chain economics, so ultimately it is going to depend on where you want to fit into the market place.

Hi there!!!
Might be a stupid question but are we supposed to do any disinfecting type things to the materials before sending it?
Oh yeah - duh - I should've looked on the website!
I just always come here first ever since I started doing this - I will definitely give it a good spraying to to help make sure that it's all clear for them :)
What category do you stick back planes in?
The short answer is by looking at them. If you don't know, we will sort it here.
thank you

Does anyone know if you have to remove the metal boxes to get better pricing? I’m trying to fill a box up this weekend and wanted to know before I stuff them in there.
It's never been a problem to leave the metal boxes on. I've done a number of boxes w/ Ewasted over the years.
You may run into shipping problems. Things seem to be a bit cattywampus lately. The delivery system is overloaded with on-line orders from Amazon due to the pandemic.
Awesome thanks for the help!
I sent Mario and crew 2 pallets totaling 1900lbs and received my check last week and I am very happy with the payout!

I would like to wish everyone at Ewasted a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. My last couple shipments have went great and the help I received was wonderful. God Bless in the new year!

Hello, I hope I’m posting to the right place as this forum was recommended. We just redid our entire office with LED light fixtures and we have about 60-70 of them in the loading dock ready to go. Looking for a quick sale and haul away. We are in downtown Toronto and the items are in the loading dock ready to go as of Sunday evening March 21.
Thank you!
You will have better luck using facebook marketplace or craigslist than on here most likely if you need a quick local pickup of a relatively small amount of material.
Additionally, if those fixtures are like the kind I am thinking of, that is only about $100 of scrap, if that. so it is doubtful anyone will pay you anything for them to scrap them..... you could probably find someone on there to come take them for free though. Good luck!
