Hello and Welcome SMF members. We would like to thank our vendors for your continued support and extend an invitation to any new prospective clients who are curious about our services and purchasing program. Our receiving process includes testing RAM modules using a battery of voltage and data spikes via specially designed RAMCheck LX devices. CPUs are inspected visually and evaluated using POST and stress testing software. All Hard Drives / Solid State Drives have their SMART data and history of errors examined using HD Sentinel, an enterprise grade software for monitoring drive health. Drives must have zero bad sectors. Finally drives are then wiped using NIST 800-88 Guidelines based data-destruction program with audits available upon request; special sensitivities are given to ensure Solid State media is sanitized properly.

We also purchase server RAM, most configurations at least DDR2 4gb or larger and almost any DDR3 and SAS Hard drives 300gb or larger however the market prices are so volatile for us on server material we prefer to give quotes on the day you wish to sell your material. Always feel free to reach out to us here or at my email listed, thanks!

Just wanted to give a review for Mike and his crew. I have been selling to him for the past 8 months or so. Can not say enough good things about them. Started dropping off ram and harddrives in my last two visits and have to say I am very pleased with the results. He gives you a full accounting of any thing that tests bad on a spread sheet. Looking foward to my next visit and glad there is a local buyer here for working parts now.

Completed my first transaction with Mike and highly recomend. My one suggestion is to make sure both parties know how material is packaged and what size box is required. We ran into this issue and Mike was able to provide alternatives quickly. Also when you get a label sent to you, print it out that day so it doesn't expire.
Thank you Mike for a great transaction.

I was not going to write this post, but after talking to a few people I felt i had to share my experience with the members about a buyer on the forum so here it is.Let me just say that we could have packed the box's a little better and used some bubble wrap and some more care. so we packed two USPS flat rate box's one had 76 sata hard drives for lap tops, the other was a full box of sata desk tops, both box's were full. Now being a reasonable guy i could understand that there could be some damage to the hard drives from the trip, being reasonable 25% could be possible, 40% was a stretch. so when i got the spread sheet back low a behold, almost 90% were damaged. We were paid for 8 lap top sent 76 so 68 of the 76 were damaged, and the desk tops three were what made the trip and got paid for 3 from a full box. Now if i were the buyer and those were the true damages the first thing i would have done was call the seller and let him know the condition of the goods and see what he wanted to do, after all i paid the freight and the $151.61 i was paid really just did not matter. So like the title say's seller Beware. i am going to try and send a copy of the spread sheet hope it comes out, and the buyer is EWR Michael Marro.

Did you contact Mike and discuss this with him? I have been selling to him for close to a year and never had a problem with a single transaction. I had a similar transaction with another buyer here where 90% of the drives I sent tested bad, as well as 57 out of 90 or so sticks of 1 gig ddr2 ram. I didn't flame the buyer, I just stopped selling to him. Couldn't prove that there was any shenanigans even though all the drives I sent tested good prior to shipping.

Did you at least boot up the drives to see if they worked? You also did state that you could have packed the boxes better. Did you insure the boxes with usps in case they were bounced around in transit? For that amount of material and the possible payout they should have been insured.

Well this forum is for the benefit of its members to share all kinds of experiences, good and bad i read your reviews about the buyer before and respect your opinion,or i would have never sent him the goods to begin with, I share good and also bad info about the buyers and vendors on our forum. In mikes e-mail to me he apologized to me for the low turn out and said he was thinking about freezing out the hard drive program, due to the fact that many are damaged in transit.Well if you think 68 of 76 could get damaged in transport i want to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. If i sold eggs for a living and knew that they cracked so easy i would make sure buyer would also know.

    1956,
I sincerely apologize for your turnout but I must say your case is not uncommon for me with people who have shipped us hard drives and I'm not afraid to say this. We have stringent testing for our hard drives because we wholesale them and have to meet specific qualifications for our buyer. It also is a testament of the necessity to individually wrap each hard drive yet there none in one your packages and little to speak of in the other. I would rather you had aired this complaint to me on the phone when we spoke rather not tell you were un satisfied and then publicly air this grievance. I would have shipped backed all of your drives on my dime and you would have seen yourself that most did not even boot up. I do not wish to be judged on this single transaction that was out of my control when there are many happy unspoken customers who have done many shipments hard drives, RAM and CPUs. I again apologize for your dissatisfaction in the turnout of the drives and my offer to return evy one still stands . Consider this the premature and unofficial announcement that we are freezing our hard drive program because of these exact reasons.

How much can be expected from the bad drives?
Hard Drives must containZero bad sectors; just because a drive is working does not mean there are no bad sectors. Please be aware that Hard Drives can function seemingly perfectly with a number of bad sectors but we cannot sell Hard Drives with any bad sectors to our buyers. Hard Drives must also have the capability to be fully erased either by Secure Erase or overwrite patterns according to NIST 800-88 Guidelines. All drives that cannot be fully wiped and verified must be destroyed according to our company policy and as such will be purchased at scrap pricing.

I pay full scrap price out on 3.5" HDs ($0.70#) and on 2.5" HDs I pay $1.00# because I know some are inevitably going to be damaged in transit and laptop hard drives sometimes have copper lids. This way the seller really can't lose. Even if zero hard drives work you would still get a highly competitive price but and not have any labor/time into it.

Thought I would chime in with a review here.

After exchanging several e-mails over a couple of weeks, I decided to do some business with Mike.

Everything went smooth as expected. The RAM I sent had mostly been tested already so there were not any surprises.

Payment was on time and communication was good. My material was tested in a timely manner as well.

    Thanks for a good transaction!
