Buying Computer Parts and Laptops for Greater than Scrap Value

I'm glad to be back, helping the community! I've added more hard drive and memory testing stations, so we're ready for your stuff!

I look forward to working with you! We purchase a lot of more than scrap value parts, including CPUs, RAM, and HDDs. We also purchase graphics cards and complete laptops! Feel free to PM me anytime, or you can E-Mail me here. I can also chat with you via telephone or text messaging if you like, but Wyoming cell service is notoriously bad.

Prices Please see our Google Spreadsheet for current pricing:

In the spreadsheet below is a list of most of what we are purchasing for greater than scrap value. We are looking for working items in good shape. I test all items, and they must be in working order to receive these prices. Failed items will be paid at our current scrap prices. Items will be paid at the prices effective on the day that your lot is received (Not when you ship). We try not to change prices too often. You can view prices below. There is a copy of the packing slip for download, or a fillable one in the spreadsheet if you'd prefer. Please contact me to obtain a lot number for larger shipments

Please click here for packing slip! Please place a copy in each box you send

Please let me know before you send a lot- there is only one me- I will make sure to take care of you, but it helps a LOT to know what's coming, so I can make my schedule around it. This way your lot is tested as quickly as possible, and that means money in your pocket faster!

For larger lots, I cannot recommend our resident freight shipper on the forum (You all know who I'm talking about!) highly enough! If you ship a pallet, I can pick it up at the NPT freight terminal, so there is no charge for liftgate service

The fun part (Well, for you at least ) : We pay either through PayPal or by money order- your choice! Please note that there is a $5.00 fee deducted for payments sent via money order to cover the cost of the money order and postage. For PayPal payments, you are liable for all their fees. We cannot guarantee PayPal fee costs. We cannot send payment to anyone other than yourself or the company that you represent- no third parties!

Prices are subject to change without notice. We are in uncertain times as you all know- we try not to change prices, but in the event of market changes, prices may change. All lots are paid out at the rates in effect on the date that they are received, not the day that they are postmarked. Shipping reimbursement or partial prepayment is handled on a case-by-case basis. All boxes need to have an inventory list with your name, SMF username (If you have one), lot number, preferred payment method (PayPal or Money Order), the address for payment to be made to, and an E-Mail that can be used to contact you. We have a nice little form that you can use for just that to make it nice and easy!

I'm proud to have worked with many of the same clients for the last few years, and I look forward to working with you too!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are now purchasing vintage hard drives and RAM! Please let me know what you have, and I'll be more than happy to get you a quote on your old treasures!

Can you PM me another E-Mail address or phone number- I'll resend your report over right away! I wonder why the report didn't come through?

Just wanted to report in my experiences with Matador. I've worked with him twice over the past couple months.

    Great experiences overall/recommended!

I wanted to make sure I shared my full experience on working with this buyer. To start off, this is the first time I have sent a load over the internet (other than just normal ebay/craigslist sales)... in addition to that it was (at least to me) a pretty large lot of stuff. So with that in mind, I was on edge and probably very needy, and probably sent way too many messages to check on the progress than I should have. However each time matador responded and told me the status. Pricing was exactly as expected, and he made every effort to make sure I was in the know with what was going on after he received my lot. Total turn around for my order (which included about 300 sticks of ram to be tested), from first contact, to getting my money order in the mail was about 1 month.

I would highly recommend this buyer, and will use him again for "greater-than-scrap" PC parts I get. Now that I know the process, and know this is a trust-worthy, honest guy, I will be much more at ease with all future orders. This buyer went above and beyond.

tl;dr This buyer is great and honest. I recommend him and will use him again once I stockpile up enough stuff again.

Hey Matador, I have a lot of laptop computer motherboards, all working btw, and a bunch of memory as well that I was wondering if you'd be interested in? I have offered them to a few companies this week, just waiting to hear back but I thought I would post here as well. Let me know.

Thanks for the kind review, KSS! Your lot was an absolute pleasure to test! I look forward to helping with many future lots!

@Pauly: Most memory types are listed in our spreadsheet, but I can always quote out something if it's not in there. I had a customer send in a small amount of rare DDR2 RAM a couple weeks ago for example. You never know what obscure parts might still have value

As for laptop motherboards, do you know what they came out of? I sometimes run across laptops that come in and need new ones. If so, I can definitely use them as replacements if they're for the right machines. If not, I can still quote them out. I don't work with laptop motherboards much, but I'm always eager to work with new things

Hi matador, I sent you an email last week but not sure if you received it or not. I have a lot of server RAM that I'd like to send your way. Looking forward to working with you.

I sent an E-Mail over the weekend, but it must not have made it somehow. Anyways, the only question I had on your lot was the DDR2 server RAM. I found two completely different types of RAM with that part number. If you can let me know the make and model, I can tell you what you've got and quote it!

I look forward to working on your lot!

Sent you the info that you requested via email. Just another heads up in case it ended up in your spam folder again

I'm not seeing it in my E-Waste inbox or the spam filter. Would you like me to give you my personal E-Mail so you can send it there?

I had some email trouble sending to his address as well, probably a technical issue or something.... but he is very responsive to private messages on here. If you click "Send PM", it should get to him!

The one caveat being that the messaging through this site is weird too, in that it does actually show in a sent folder or anything.... but, if you send it, it does go through...

Let's try your personal email and hopefully we'll have better luck. I just re-sent the email again right now.

KSS, I wish I could send him a PM but I'm still too new and haven't reached the magical # of posts yet to unlock access to PM capability. From, what I've read from matador's posts and other people's reviews, I don't doubt that matador is a stand up guy

For some reason, your second one came in. I'll price out your RAM tonight if I get a minute. I'll be driving silage truck tomorrow, so I should get some downtime too. E-Mail would be a lovely thing.... if it would work more than half the time

If you click the giant "CURRENT PRICES HERE" link in his main page it links to a google doc which he keeps updated with his latest prices. If you go to that doc you can see all his latest prices

Hi Wyatt, good to see you are buying AMD processors. I'll be keeping you in mind this summer when things pick up.

Yep- the spreadsheet there is updated, though nothing much has really changed these last few months. The usual depreciation of parts value has been pretty much offset by the spike in demand for refurbished goods due to the Coronavirus mess, meaning prices are pretty stable

@Kalvlin: I absolutely love working with AMD processors. If yours aren't on the list, shoot me a PM and I'll manually look them up for you. Some of the higher end ones bring really good money though. If they come in computers with higher end (Usually gaming or workstation) motherboards, shoot me a message with the board model. Often those boards are worth more than scrap, and they also serve as a great way to protect the CPU pins in shipping

Found it! The dreaded spam filter strikes again....

I'm looking through those boards to see if there's anything we can use them in. I'll let you know
