Hello ladies and germs, been working on a few things, as I always am. Expect to see a website soon with a "form" you can fill out for your more than scrap value stuff that will result in an semi-automated quote on your shipment. Because of the nature of what I do, shipping and so on is a bit hands on, but this should expedite the process to same day/next day grab and go.

Of course as usual I do provide trays, containers, clamshells, antistatic foam, bags, bubble wrap at your request. There's a few guys waiting on such materials. Have no fear I was out of AMD trays and had to order more, they went out Thursday or Friday. I was also out of intel clamshells, I ordered 500 this time and another 200 21 place trays, should receive them soon.

Next order of business, I did not forget about video tutorials. I need to create a google account just for the business yet so I can setup a youtube account that isn't full of rant videos and motorcycles hehe. I will also expand the google docs tutorials to include Intel indentification of all the current chips I buy, identifying your graphics card, and other things to be on the lookout for that I buy. I will go over most of that in slideshow and video format.

Lastly, my current turnaround time is about 4 days. Small orders are faster of course but I had a few sizable lots to go through and it takes longer when I have to clean the processors to test them (hint hint).

PS. Shout out to everyone who's worked with me so far, including having to wait so long during some of these growing pains, I've moved shops twice now and hopefully this is a long term location for us. I no longer post my scrap prices for things not related directly to my buy list HOWEVER please refer your scrap selling to my partner Mudlucky. He's the man to talk to when it comes to scrap of any quantity. It doesn't matter which one of us buys it persay but he can definitely get you setup with shipping, or local drop offs.

So, that's the update for the week, as usual, if your not sure if I buy it, just ask me and happy scrapping everyone!

DDR2 1GB is falling flat very very quickly and it looks like those who have alot of it are unloading it all over ebay as I write this. I may not be buying 1GB modules much longer. Tentative hold on ALL 1GB PC2-5300 until I can resolved a price for the next month.

DDR3 is dropping fast with DDR4 out in the wild now. There will be more information on this soon.

I think I have finally nailed down a 7 day or less turnaround time for pretty much ANYTHING coming in. Last month I was able to get through 135 hard drives from test to wipe in about two days time. Of course...the office got pretty warm lol.

As usual we are buying laptops and desktops, tablets, cell phones and as always computer parts. I am adding and changing my lists to google drive spreadsheets so it's better organized. If your not sure what you have, feel free to contact me!

Additions to the mobile cpu buy list coming this week. I expect this should make older dual core laptops more lucrative for people.

Big thanks to everyone and a belated happy holidays. The price sheet is current and I've added several items. I am working on google spreadsheet that will have tabs to select what type of item you have and then you can look it up. It will be much more specific than listed here. I will probably leave highlighted items up and everything else will be a link to the sheet. The best part is, you can use that sheet as a printable inventory for packing.

Also, of course, we can and do send labels for shipping, we will send packing materials, drop shipping them as needed and if you need freight shipping we can arrange it. In fact in most cases when you have a variety of potentially valuable and somewhat bulky material it is MUCH safer to freight material to us than use FedEx or USPS. We see testing rates improve as much as 20% on freight items over standard shipping. If you live in WI, northern half of IL, the eastern corner of IA or possibly further yet, I can drive to you for pickup of material or meet you somewhere, this would protect and ensure the maximum return.

I hope each and every one of you has a successful year, enjoy it!

I would just like to say that TJ is a wonderful guy to work with. Brought out a few goodies packages to him and the return was a lot more than expected. He has great pricing and fast turn-a-round time, his communication is also great. Very good guy to deal with and looking forward to doing a lot more business with him.

It's been a hard couple of weeks but in the best of ways. You guys make it possible to keep me gainfully employed and I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who's sent shipments and well wishes in this endeavor. And guess what, the list is expanding even more! I will be adding some appliance control modules for refrigerators, ranges and microwaves...touchpads, sensors...level sensors for washers and humidity sensors for dryers...right now it will be heavily focused on best selling major brands less than ten years old.

Also I'm considering purchasing broken/old cordless tools (also major brands) that are not chinese. So stay with me as I move to expand further than computer parts.

If you are wanting to bring scrap and resale at the same time they will need to be separate. The resale items themselves should be accurately inventoried because I am going to create your settlement summary from YOUR inventory and correct it as I sort and test. This way if a package is damaged or something is missing all parties know before the sort phase. Anything you do to make it faster for me to process helps your processing time.

Single boxes can usually be done in 7-10 days. My son works on single box shipments every Saturday and Sunday while I spend my weekdays handling larger shipments of gaylord size. If you have significant material at present the turnaround time is not defined. I had an unusually large shipment come in and I am still working on it, the piece count was thousands and it simply takes time to get it done.

If a flat rate box sized shipment was sent today you could expect it to be done NEXT Saturday and a check in the mail same day...or sooner.

An update, some of you may notice the price sheets are moving to google drive. I've done this at the request of my regulars and to make it easier for newcomers to see what they have and it's value. If you are using a smartphone you can SAVE them to your sheets app and can use it as a quick reference guide while you work. I'm trying to figure out a website plug in that will let you pick what you have and it's quantity so it will create your inventory FOR you and because im disliking fedex more by the day...im hoping to automate the inventory and shipping. How it would work is like this:

You would peruse the buy sheets to see if you have anything I am buying. Then you would go to my website and pick the things you have and the quantity. You would then be able to ask for shipping supplies if you needed them and if not, pack and weigh your box then submit the form to receive a prepaid shipping label. I unfortunately have to approve the labels...it can't be automated. It could be weeks or months before I get it to work...and if it's truly beyond my capability I will hire someone to do the work.

Also. In the last four weeks I've had a DOZEN first timers and I'd like to give you all a friendly reminder to review the service you received!

Some changes! First, you guys have probably noticed the large share of the price lists have been condensed onto google drive. If anyone has issues seeing those price lists just let me know. Next, I am ramping up to buy appliance logic boards for those scrappers who want to bring in additional cash. high efficiency washers...newer stoves and even some high efficiency furnaces all have a "logic board" or control board that handles all the functions of the appliance. If there has been a mechanical failure or an element/pump or something else went bad but the appliance still tries to work...pull that board and mail it off. It's nice to know what it came from so try to put the make/model of the appliance with each board. The prices vary widely, but can go as high as 50 bucks. I can promise that it would be worth your time. I would also like to offer TV logic, timing control and power board purchasing on all 2012 and newer led/lcd tvs larger than 40" with screen defects/breakage but the unit still powers up. Contact me about any of the above and we can figure out how to get you started.
