Wow I missed your last post, if I had I would have yelled at you for not stopping by for a cup of coffee. Jacksonville is 50 miles up the road. I hope you had a great time and don't let the others up north how nice it is here. Mike

So you buy scrap desktop drives, but not working ones? Or is the SATA pricing for laptop AND desktop?

Yes you are correct. I currently buy laptop hdd's on this forum publicly. I do buy desktop hard drives that are working for a premium, I have just been doing it locally. If you email me I will send you a price for them,

Hi Andre, if I sell you my HD platters what data security precautions are in place?

Also, do you have any suggestions for what to do with the motors? It seems there is a buyer for every part of a HD except those (including scrap yard for aluminum). Should the motors just go to the scrap yard too?

    Thanks,
    Cheryl

He wants the backplates left on the magnets.
If you will go back and read the whole thread (only 4 pages) you will find more useful info on how to pack and tape the boxes so they won't rip open during shipping.
I've got a bucket full that I'm going send. Going to the post office in a few to get some boxes.
