I think I had a bunch (probably 50-75lbs) of what I now think were Tantalum Large Military Capacitors, after looking through the pages

I sent them in with shred just thinking they weren't anything special. Ive even been in this thread before, just never on "Page 11" before today ..... :'( ..... oh well, live and learn.
I am sorry - But, I am not sure what you mean by Tantalum Large Military Capacitors? Do you mean Tantalum Wets?
If there are any specific questions on a specific type, Please email us --- However up top those pictures are the main types of Tantalum Capacitors.

I apologize - But, are you asking for us to explain to you the different types of Tantalum Capacitors and provide you pictures of the Tantalum Capacitors that our company purchases in order to process at our refinery in Doral Florida in order for you to list the capacitors for sale on Ebay?

We are the only processing facility in the United States -- Our prices are listed above. If you would like to sell us any Tantalum Scrap material you believe you may have. Please send us pictures to our email address and we will tell you what are and which are not Tantalum Capacitors and there prices.

I know nothing about tantalum or capacitors, or what Tantalum wets are. I would bet MOST people do not. However, that doesn't mean that I don't come across a good number of them in my normal scrapping ventures (without me knowing). I think what he and I are both saying, is, most people aren't going to go through 20 pages and mentally catalog all the different types of capacitors you posted over all the 20 pages. A concise list of examples of ALL the types you buy, with examples, in one place/post (not 20 places) would be beneficial to you and us. It would benifit us buy us being able to quickly and easily be able to separate and identify our materials, and see if what we have is something you are purchasing. And it would benifit you because you would get more stuff If more people could easily identify the things you are looking for.

Im not saying you HAVE to do this if you dont think it would be worth your time, or if there are too many types of capacitors to list. I think allowing people to email you a picture and your respond back with a yay/nah is fine. I am just explaining his and mines thought process.

I think what your are doing is great, and I am glad you are a purchaser on here. I hope to come across some more capacitors soon to be able to send you.

Thank you very much for your reply, These capacitors are considered Tantapaks -- They are extremely extremely heavy --
These are capacitors units that are installed on boards that go into guided missile systems, tanks and F-35 Lighting boards.

These capacitors are extremely hard to find as they are not produced in substantial quantities annually -- Very heavy and very specific type of product. One of these capacitors weighs around 80-135 grams.

    Thank you very much!

There are a few different offers on Ebay for Tantalum Scrap --- However there are listings that are up for years at a time as the price that is being requested does not correspond to market pricing.
Our company does look at Ebay Tantalum Scrap offerings daily and we do provide price offers that correspond to pricing listed and updated above.

There are also listings currently on Ebay that are specified as Tantalum Capacitors which are actually not Tantalum Capacitors.

These are the capacitors types that our company categorizes as Tantapaks ---
All of these different types of capacitors fit into the same category, These are the Large Military Capacitors and they come in different sizes and ranges.

These Capacitors we are currently purchasing for --- $6/Lb, As some of these Tantapaks contain Tantalum Wet Capacitors inside of them and then Others contain Tantalum Foil Capacitors inside of them.
Tantalum Wet Capacitors have Tantalum Cases on the outside of them --- Tantalum Foil Capacitors have Brass cases on the outer shell and a thin line of Tantalum Foil inside of them.

The majority of Tantapaks Capacitors are produced with Tantalum Foil Capacitors.

Tantalum Cased Capacitors are extremely heavy and expensive and are produced exclusively for the Defense industry, Unless our fellow scrappers on this board have contracts with the US Government to dismantle Lockhead Martin F-16, F-15 Fighter Jets or US Produced obsolete Drones, Then most likely you would not be able to find these Large Military Capacitors that contain Tantalum Wet Capacitors.

Tantalum Recycling is Currently paying -- $6/Lb for Tantapaks mixed.

Tantalum Wet Capacitors ---- Consist of Tantalum Shells on the Outside & Tantalum Insert on the inside with Sulphric Acid Liquid inside Reason why material is called (Wet Tantalum Capacitor)
I have attached a picture explaining the difference between Tantalum Wet Capacitor & Tantalum Hermetic Capacitor.

Currently our purchase price is $35/Lb.

Tantalum Wet Capacitors --- Consist of Tantalum Shell on the outside & Tantalum Insert on the inside -- Material also contains Sulphric Acid inside of it, Which is the reason it is called
    Tantalum Wet Capacitor.

We have also attached a picture showing the difference between Tantalum Wet Capacitor & Tantalum Hermetic Capacitor which contains a Brass Shell on the outside.

Tantalum Recycling is currently paying $35/Lb for this type of capacitor.

Thank you Ronald for taking the time to re-post the pics that some people were to lazy to look for. It doesn't take that long to go through 11 pages people.

Ronald asks what EVERY other buyer here asks for. Send me some pics and I'll send you a price. That's not unreasonable..........unless you're lazy.

Maybe I should go to one, or all of the main buyers here and demand they post a picture and price of EVERY circuit board they buy.

By the way Ronald I have what looks like a tantalum capacitor. Can you guess what it looks like and send me a price please?
