When I say 'late model,' I mean 5-7 years old and newer for the most part. The majority of the wheels we sell are for body shop and rental car repairs. Most of the time when someone wrecks a 1993 Grand Am, they aren't going to be looking for a like-new wheel to get it rolling again. So, most of what we need are wheels that are still on cars that are newer and are considered worthwhile in getting them back to pristine condition.

We do sell some classic wheels for older cars like Vettes, Firebirds, Camaros, etc., but it is much more of a niche thing than a volume type of thing. For instance, we sell a lot more 2009 Carolla rims than we ever sell 1982 Camaro rims.

And as far as flipping wheels for more than scrap value, that is exactly what we do for scrap dealers. We give a better than scrap price for wheels we need. It helps us, as well as our vendors.
