    Ok I was not going to respond to this post again but it is still around, first the OP is a newbie just by the way he is talking any body that's been in this business more then six months can spot that, second he never heard of the two most well publicized auctions sites,
    OP don't take this the wrong way but you do not have a clue, now what I would suggest you do is what happy scrapper recommended,
    Buy a wire striper, now no yard is going to sell you a small amount of wire so maybe you could buy it from a fellow scraper or collect your own sources and strip some, get a feeling for the different grades and the different percentages of recovery you will get a education in a hurry. Now if you want to buy a load of wire of one of those government sites, I can give you a little advise because I have bought them in the past, almost every auction of wire will state with attachments, now that little word, and the wording this picture is a sample photo of what the lot might resembles is what is called there disclaimer, meaning they can reuse old photos that are from totally different lots. What I am trying to say here is I admire your desire, but I think you should do you home work learn as much as you can before you get totally over whelmed with something that you know little about.
