It doesn't matter if anything looks empty- it needs to be legally evacuated.

There's tons of knowledge on the forum about freon removal, equipment, costs, fees to charge, ...

I'd read through these articles. I think you'll learn a lot:

Not a problem! I repair computers all day, so I'm in tech support.

There's an art to using Google. I know we all love to say "Read the Archives", but there is an art to being able to find what you're looking for.

I don't argue well. Zero to sixty at the raising of a voice. So I have gained the wisdom the walk away early in the process. Like any business the key is develop relationships so people call me. Then I go get it at my convenience. If a fridge, stove or piece of metal means that much to a guy he needs it more than I do. I have a policy: TAKE IT, TWIST IT, and SHOVE IT. He needs it more than I do. At least until someone puts a Gaylord of RAM on the curb then LET THE GAMES BEGIN, are you not entertained?

What do you guys think? My opinion is if its not in your truck or your not in the process of loading it its fair game.
This is one of the main reasons I don't do curbco much.
I never got many guys wanting to challenge me for scrap. But a few drove by with smart a$$ remarks.
I try to establish a good relationship with my fellow local scrappers. If I see won put something heavy in his/her truck I stop and give them a hand. Then I give them a card.
Some people are so territorial that they see red when they spot another scrapper in their " territory ".

There is no territory, in most towns and villages its illegal to pick. Just depend

not admitting to anything or saying what i have or have not done because now i am certified by the EPA. But I mean the EPA allows the big industrial guys to loose 50lbs every day and still be legal. Ive been taking the actual refrigerant system out of the air conditioners and piling them up for about 6 months now so if i do mess with the legal way I'm not pulling the machine out every week and i only have about 10-15 of em saved up. so I'm not saying whats right or wrong but if the big guys can loose 50lbs of the stuff every day is my 10-15lbs of it in 6 months even comparable to them if i were to break them all apart? I've worked at two yards for awhile and been scrapping since 2010 and Ive only ever seen 3 stickers on any thing that said the freon got sucked out properly. and they all came from a big name hotel maintenance dept. never have i seen any come in the yard with a sticker and most get hit with the loader and loose their **** that way.
