Breaking Down A Phillips Lifeline Base Unit

This is a breakdown of a Phillips LifeLine base transmitter. Dated '09 it was out of service.

There is 3 screws under the front lip and a battery compartment towards the back of the unit.

Under the battery is another screw.

A gentle pry with a straight edge and it opens right up.

3 screws hold the circuit board in. Remove the board to reveal another board underneath. 1 screw holds it.

4 screws for the speaker and a small spring and that's about it. (the "spring" is actually an antenna)

Nice pics and breakdown. I have a dumb newbie question:

What do you do with random green boards like that? Do you pull components off it? Do you have a box labeled "random green boards"?

I guess I understand if you breakdown computers, all the motherboards go in one stack, ram in another box, etc.

I don't get hardly any computers, but I get a few things with green boards. I suppose they will add up over time.
Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is.

Those go with my printer and other green boards with lots of components, when the box is full enough then it'll make a trip to the buyer.
OR sometimes they fill up a box that has my computer boards in it. Just use these to finish the box off. But I keep them separate and don't mix them in with the motherboards.

Will you pull that Eprom or send it as is?

Betcha didn't see that question coming.

Nice break down! You're so tidy.

I already pulled it and it went into my IC can. I did see what I thought was some of the "gumdrop" tantalum caps.
