Everything metal has value and it would depend on the yard you take it and their pricing as to what its worth.
As for resale? Not really, there are so many available, due to the fact that when you move they install a new one for you. Twice in a month at two different houses I picked up 3 off the curb. The pieces that stick out (sorry, don't know the technical term) that have plastic around them are cast aluminum, other then that the dish is magnetic so I throw it in the shred.
Open the box on the antenna I believe you will find a board that has value and some of the parts are Al as I recall, Mike.
Yep, there's some gold plating on the lil board, but I notice quite a few dishes laying around don't have the LNA (low noise amplifier) on the end. I think the dish company either takes them back in or puts them back on the new dish, not sure which. Can't imagine them putting a used product on a new dish but maybe their recycling them.Quote:

M88, the LNA is the piece that sticks out in front of the dish right? (sorry i sound stupid, lol). I know there is a cover on the bottom of the cast, but I couldn't get into the ones I have because their all epoxied shut, so i just threw them in the bucket. I'm guessing this is where the board is?
And no, the dish companies don't reuse them, at least not around me anyway. I think people just keep them "in case theirs breaks"
Yes your correct, 88. To be politically correct, it is called an LNB.Quote:

Here is a description according to Wiki; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-noi..._downconverter
You van sell those on ebay. Especially if you have a triple LNB or dual feed. It seems to be about a 50/50 chance on Ebay....... if anyone likes those odds.
Hypo, works well for you ebayers...lol. I don't mess around with ebay. If I can't sell it on C/L or a yearly rummage sale, it's not worth my time
Dude, I hate Ebay too, I know some people like to use it so I thought I'd throw that out there. I rarely sell anything anymore, cost way too much for me..... I just buy stuff now!
[[/PHP]It is a triple, lady says it is good for HD and all. It is on a nice tripod. Two big for me to bother with eBay,I don't enjoy shipping and packing. I will try Cl then just separate it and scrap it.
If it's HD it should say right on the dish. Even if the whole setup won't sell on CL, try selling just the tripod. I have one right now in the rafters of my garage I want to throw up once it warms up. Figured someone could use it, either for a dish or mobile flag pole for tailgating or something...figure right now I'll survive without the 30 cents it would get me over the scale
I've heard they have a dice high grade board in them. I've got a couple just hangin here in the garage
I think that was mentioned up in #5
Sold it on CL for 46.00 -3 gas =43 .00 profit. Thanks for your advice, great site.
I rented a house years ago and It had 4 dishes on the side of the house. and when I orders dish TV They came and put another one on the house and left the others. LOL!! It really made the house look tacky after that.
that's funny! IYG
Thanks for the update johnnie
True story! I think every time the house was rented out then a new one would go up. Must have been the same installer cause he was too lazy to take the old ones down.
