DIY Small Wire Stripper
Santa gave me a couple of v bearings and I wanted to make a small wire stripper. I saw one that looks like a folding razor knife that has a v bearing in it. The D2 style roller cutters say they can cut 8000 ft of wire before they get dull. How many double sided razor blades would it take to cut 8000 ft of single strand solid 10-12 awg.(just the tip makes contact with the wire) It seems like the steel cutter would be better suited for thicker wire and not worth the extra cost for thinner wire? Am I missing something. I plan on making a couple of wire specific strippers rather than one that can sort of do everything. Does anybody have exper. with this type of stripper?

Hello, I'd like to be able to view the video but can't seem to get it to run. I'm not new to computers and don't have any issues with YouTube etc. Each time I click the link the pages simply refreshes like it's going to load a video but when done it appears to be just the same, a link with no video. Is the video still posted I'm a new member, am I missing a setting somewhere I need to activate? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Photos and video gets dropped from host site after time. This thread was started in 2011. Youtube has lots of videos of wire strippers. My advise if you have lots of wire and lots of free time then stripping wire may be a good idea for you. Read more threads. Mike
