There is a peice of copper next to 2 other heatsinks...
Both are non-magnetic, but dont look like copper I have seen. The one single peice one seems like it could maybe be bronze? Did they use that in old laptops as heat sinks?
The other I think might actual be copper, just varnished or coated as it looks copper color where the cpu was attached to it at.
Any ideas?
Take a bench grinder to them. Fastest way to tell
The long conducting tubes are copper and can go with your copper #2. For radiator bases either use a grinder as rags suggests or scrap down quickly with a flathead screwdriver. That will tell you whether they are aluminum or copper. Bronze is unlikely no matter the outer appearance.
I did scrape it with a file and it seemed like more of the outside material.... Didn't look like aluminum or copper. The one is 100% copper. But the one with the one conducting tube on the back doesn't look like aluminum or copper... Maybe I just didnt file down enough!
The silver coloured metal is either Aluminium or Magnesium ( i chuck it into the 'Aluminium domestic pile' because most aluminium is alloyed with Magnesium anyway.
Magnesiums also worth less than Aluminium is. Weird.
The Copper lóoking stuff is ,'Copper Domestic', dont worry about the solder or whatever they use to bind the bits together.
In that Copper tube there is a liquid, i read once that ts toxic but after a quick search i cant find any mention of that, ad they say its just water.
