? on insulated copper
So i got piles of insulated wire from wiring out of automobiles. So of course there is alot if stuff that has electrical tape, wire loom, ect on them.
Ive been taken the connectors off as I save those and the wire loom comes off to. Do i need to remove all the tape to before I take it in as insulated??
thanks Mike

I do. If i leave ANY ends on, or a bit too much tape, i'll get "breakage" price, BAM, 0.25 cents a pound. I take all the tape, connectors, zipties, everything off. Yes, it takes a bit of time. But at the end of the day, its nice to know that what you've got in yer bucket AINT worth .25 cents a dang pound. I get paid 1.20 a pound for it, once its all clear of everything else.
Trust me, it may look daunting at the start. But the first time you go to the yard with a bucket full of wire with ends on it and get paid .25 a pound, you'll be kickin yerself right in the behind.

check with your yard first...rates are different at each one
