Year end total poundage
I'm just a part timer so I know my total weight is small potatoes to some of you. While to others it may be a lot. But I thought I'd share my year end total weight brought to my main yard I deal with 99% of the time.
This last year I managed to recycle 23.26 tons. 46,520 back breaking pounds. Lol.
Now, this yard doesn't do any electronics, odd metals like carbide or magnesium, or non metals. That all goes elsewhere. But my volumes of those combined were maybe 500 to 1000 lbs total for the year. But still, anyone else big or small that keeps track and is willing to share, how much weight did you keep out of the landfill this year?
-
Slow year for my company but we still did a little over 60 tons or 120000lbs. That dosent include electronics or plastics we recycle as well.
These totals were after we stopped buying off the public and recycling catalytic converters for the year. Converter totals would be a lot higher that went out to New Hampshire.

I keep track myself, This year with 2 more weeks to go im at 52,605. Also no e-waist included
-
Way way less poundage and cash this year due to ****ty prices, passed up lots of stuff as well. Only good thing was a lot less trips to the scrap yard as well. Still have some stuff held onto around here and sold a lot of stuff as dirty instead of breaking it down....
-
I don't really keep track of everything but I've been to the scrapyard 7 or 8 times this year to get rid of the pc cases and phone cabinets. Each load was between 1000 and 1500 pounds. Shred has been as low as 20 a ton but is 100 a ton now and I'll have 1 more load before the end of the year.
Copper, aluminum, brass and insulated wire, no idea but I had about 2500 pounds of mid to high grade circuit boards this year.
-
I set a goal of a million pounds this year, but I'm not going to make it. Right now I'm at 920,000 pounds and there's only two weeks left. I'm blaming my scrap yard though as they closed for 4 days at Thanksgiving. Next year I'm aiming for a little higher.

Wow. Freonjoe for the win so far. Thats a lot of weight. Do you take all that in yourself? Or do you have roll offs and/or semi trailers?
And greytruck, seeing as we're both illinoisans with similar totals, we may have to make a gentleman's bet on who can bring in more next year. Lol.
-
I did take it all in myself. My trailer holds 12 refrigerators and I shoot for 2 loads across the scales every day.

Poundage is...well not my personal forte, but we have done 78,790 sticks of ram, well...that tested good. My employees, son and myself have permanent "ram callous" from slotting memory into our machines over and over again lol. I will make 80k this year with what we have untested yet.
-
Ready for a tadpole's take?
Circuit boards 862 lbs
Shred 1,480 lbs
Aluminum 408 lbs
Definitely a hobby for me. Definitely need to do more in 2017 :)
-
I will roughly at 250 ton of insulated copper and acsr wire
-
I have hauled in 1,750,160 lbs of cars!
-
Im a little over 6300lbs of clean#1, just a hair under 8000lbs of #2. Almost 42tons of scrap iron. 1/2 ton of brass. Almost 1 ton of aluminum. And im holding off on the electronics till after the 1st of the year. And i have about 700lbs of monell.(i think thats how you spell it). Well thats my totals for the year, my goal for next year will be to beat each weight. Happy holidays to each of you

I do nothing but ewaste, mainly computers, servers network equipment, cell phone.
My total so far is 61,131 lbs. There is probably another 4-5,000 lbs sitting in the shop, but most of that won’t get turn in until January.
I keep detailed records on a spreadsheet which I update every week.
A rough breakdown:
10,194 lbs sent to my ewaste buyer (mostly boards, cell phones, RAM, CPU, other higher value items)
6,082 lbs power supplies
3,676 lbs low grade breakage (floppy drives, AC adapters, fans, transformers)
2,011 lbs wire
3,000 lbs Aluminum, copper, brass
Rest is all plastic, metal cases, etc.
