If you can find a way to get them to Knoxville Tn I'll give you .15 cents a pound.......LOL
Very sneaky mike...u must be the one geting 20 cents lb..lucky dog..one yard I know of takes em for 5 cents..think I might have found a new yard..guy at the yard mentioned it to me today when I was tossing computer carcasses..
Same hear Lady scrappers and bpatnoe! Winfield alloy in Atkinson, NH buy e scrap. They have some sort of refining operation in Texas I believe. A friend of mine just took in some mother boards, cant remember what he got, but at the time seemed not too bad a price. I'm not sure if they deal with the low grade brown/green boards though. If you call them to find out bpatnoe, let us know what they said mate.
Have not thought about Windfield Alloy. My workplace went through them a few years ago (Steel cans, Alum. cans). May call them up.
Also, in a couple months I am going to the NRRA Conference. There will be over 60 vendors there (equipment, recycling, etc.) so I am hoping to get much info. If I find anything good, I will post it on the forum.
I will buy them for $.19-$.20/lb
Ewasted, I would love to send them to you but it is just not economical to send them to you. If you are paying .19-.20 and it is costing me .50-.60 for shipping I am losing money. If I can't find a place I would probably send like 10 pounds per load so it does not cost me much but hate to do that. I would be better off sending them to my recycling center and pay them $0.20 per pound.
On a separate note, I am trying to convince a fellow scrapper to start sending his boards to you starting this week. He will first be shipping mixed green/green boards but has a crap load of RAM, Motherboards, Processors, etc.
That is a good idea. It is to the point know that I dont care if I get any money for the boards just as long as I dont have to pay money.
I just throw them in with my sheet steel.
If you guys(gals) would add your location to your profile then maybe someone could give you a suggestion based on your location, and not have to keep asking the question over and over. Just a thought,,,
Just called and spoke with a Glenn Deluca at Windfield Alloys. Will be sending him pics so he can price out. He didn't give me a straight answer on low grade boards yet; I'll ask him again in my email to him.
What did he have for prices on other e-scrap?
Thanks LadyScrappers! I will definitely check him out for the items that are not worth shipping out (power supplies, low boards, etc).
I sent him a sample price list from one of our buyers on here and asked him if his prices were competitive with those. The price list he sent me back was comparable more or less a couple dollars either way.
do you have any pics of the boards
Here is what some of mine look like;

My camera has recently broke so I can't get a pic right now. But, there are no TV boards. The are also pretty well stripped of aluminum and transformers. Some are broken, some are complete. There are B/B, G/B, low G/G, etc.
Possibleblead for low boards in mid NH. Will know more on Tuesday.
What were they paying for RAM?
Haha, that's my main scrap yard that I use - they're less than 5 miles from my house! They only recently started taking low-grades.
over 3 hours from my house, prob not a good location for low grade. BTW:, do you remove those heavy black things from tv boards and separate? is that copper motor inside? or battery? or what?
The only heavy black thing I can think of is the flyback transformer.

WOW 5 pennies a pound.. thats pretty low.
If you are only getting .05 for low grade...they are definitely jacking you. Start looking to save up and expand your area...I drive about an hour to offload my brown boards and some other lower grade things like cd drives. I just wait until I have several hundred pounds.
Evwn if you had to save and ship out gaylords for .10 in shipping cost to get .20/lb...that dpubles your profit.
I have lots but I'm here in Florida. It will be cheaper to just throw them in as shred.
Maybe he's talking about Florida, NY?????
