I got this 2 inch gash about 4 months ago,I was pulling apart a computer and caught my arm on the case. . Had to go to doc because I hadn't had a tetanus shot in 20+ years it ate up $75 of my profits :D

It was a good reminder to be careful, sometimes I work too fast. I finished the computer before I went to the doctor and broke the rest of my load down when I got back then I took a week off.
Just split my face open the other day pulling off an electrical box off a locomotive. I wasn't paying attention and flipped the box off and boom my face felt like it had been cracked by mike tyson and I felt blood running down my face. I had my glasses on and hard hard hat but you can't prevent stupidity I had just warned myself it in my head about it two mins ago. Oh well not my last injury like ron burgandy says I have one rule and one rule only no touching of the hair or face. I threw my hard hard and lost my glasses. Man was I pissed.
I just had to fish a peace of gold wire from my thumb tonight. It hurt like hell.

I went to climb into the back of the truck, and my ex partner didn't know it. He went to twirl around with a big steel pipe and hit me right into my face. Luckily, it didn't re break my nose, but hurt like hell for 2 days!

Was topping of a small load in my Ranger with a truck hood that had the hole in the middle for the turbo whatever. Was trying to re-situate it to sit better but then couldn't lay it back down because of where I was standing. So with my hand in the hole to hold it steady I jumped down. Turned out the ground was a little father down then my hand could reach up. Tore a nice chunk off then inside of my middle finger. That's what I get for not wearing gloves.
Then had a old role of fencing attack my face. One little end that was being held back let loose and knocked the lens out of my glasses and left a nice cut under my eye. This one wasn't all that bad but coulda been a whole lot worse. The scratch on my glasses is still there. Right in the middle.

Besides scrathes I havn't done too much...got a small piece of copper stuck in my foot I had to dig out once. That was a half hour of fun. When I was younger I was replacing a starter in my Bronco...one of the bolts snapped off so I decided to drill straight through and put a nut and bolt in...well after drilling the hole my eye itched...then I tried to go to bed that night...kept waking up because my eye was watering like a mother...finally fell asleep and woke up in the morning with my eye crusty and watery....went to the ER and they told me I had a metal shaving in my eye....so they numbed the hell outta it, put my head in this torture device, and I patiently watched as the tweezers came to my eye..and actually saw the metal being pulled out...then he told me I had a rust ring...so out came the drill...I watched a drill bit roll around in my eyeball...was pretty cool

This was back a good bit ago when I had to hand load everthing....well I was doing a pick up of computers and I was stacking them high on flat bed truck that I still have and I had my red trailer hooked up as well....the trailer was full so I had to add more to the flat bed. As I was standing on top of the computers stacking them higher and resetting the straps....the computers shifted under me and I went flying back and landed back first on the trailer head hit the ground and had a good gash....I was out for a few days and had to see the doctor per back issues but...all is good now....I am just shocked I did not mess my back up real bad.
Rule now....you don't stand on any computers due to the fact that they can shift and slide around easy.
This I did while in a partly crushed car.
There was a tear in the metal roof & as I lay on the front seats to get under the dash, I pulled my arm up towards my head & I heard cloth ripping...
Hmm, I wonder if that was cloth ripping.... See's blood drip off arm...

I could see into my arm, the yellow tendons & reddish bits, it didn't look as healthy as I feel.
I tied it up with a rag so I could walk the 20mins home, noticed it stopped bleeding..
Well theres money to be made...
So I scrapped the rest of what I was doing, packed the gear up & walked home, cleaned it, taped it up & didn't bump it at all for 1 week.
I then cleaned it again, taped it up again, didn't bump it, same again.
Then I cleaned it up, long thin scab, grabbed it & slowly ripped it off, it was like tearing a tear tab off a envelope, scarey, but erotic in a weird way.
Theres hardly a mark now.

Imploding CRT while cutting the steel mounting band off of it. In my experience, half of the TV / computer monitor CRTs I've scrapped crack when I cut the band off, while the other half do nothing. I knew one day one would implode, and this was the one. I know a lot of scrappers won't even bother with cutting the band off because of, well, I dunno. Fear of this?
I need to off-gas these things first. (Or would it be in-gassing, since it's a vacuum? Or maybe it's simply pressure equalization.)
This gash, about two inches long and down to the shin bone, should have been stitched, but I did the butterfly bandage thing instead. I did end up going to the doctor the next day because it'd been a while since my last tetanus shot (too late to stitch by then, of course). This isn't even close to my first scar, or even my first from scrapping, but it's the worst from scrapping thus far.

Nice gash..Pull the wire suction cup looking thing out to release the vacuum. I don't bother with the band myself not worth it for .15.

I've got several scars from some chisels. Lovely scar on my calf from where I scrapped it against the plastic shell of projection screen tv...bled like a stuck pig.
Not a scrapping injury, but saw the post on the metal in the eye, I can relate. Bout 8 years back when I was still doing retail, we went on a smoke break. Decided we were gonna play some hacky sack, well..long story short..I ended up with a freshly lit cigarette in my eye. Didn't hurt at first, started to throb, an hurt after washing it out an such, and decided to drive myself to the local hospital ER ( We worked over night, nothing else open). Which is a lot of fun when your basically blind in one eye driving down a 2 lane road at 1am..lol. Got to the er, an the triage chick hands me a freaking ice bag, an let me sit there for over 2 hours. Finally got in the back to see the doc, and he bout freaked out when he found out how long I'd been sitting out there. He went out, yelled at the nurse, came back, gave me those lovely numbing eye drops. Then..he put some crap in my eye turned off the lights and on a black light and showed me the burns on my eye. Gave me an eye patch told me it'd heal up in 48 hours and to take the pain pills as needed cause he couldn't give me the numbing stuff for at home as it hindered the healing process. I enjoyed walking around like a pirate the entire weekend yelling ARRRGH! at people...
Only injury where i was worried. I'm a reader, love to read, so any damage to the ol'eyes is not something that pleases me..lol. Thankfully I can still see, read etc. Won't ever play a **** game of hacky sack again tho!

In case any of you out there were wondering what it would look like if the top-heavy server rack you won at auction and were attempting to hand truck out of the warehouse fell off & landed square on your ankle... well, see for yourself. It hit so hard that it bent the frame of the server rack about a half inch out of place. Nothing broken..... somehow.
I still have 8 more racks (empty) in there I have to get out by Friday. Guess I'ma have to call a helper. Sucks, too cuz the margin was already tight on this bid, now with a doc-in-a-box visit, at least a week out-of-commission, and having to hire a helper to finish this job, I'm way in the hole.
Bottom line, SLOWER IS FASTER! If I'd taken the **** UPS's out of the top it wouldn't have tumped over on me.

The scraped off paint is from moving it after it fell, but all the bent metal you see was caused by my cuboid bone & its neighbors. I didn't know I HAD a cuboid bone until last night.

How have I not seen this thread before? Idk, but the story's about the metal in the eye and burn make me cringe. I have had some close calls with sharp and flying objects coming at my eyes. None of them actually doing any damage, but some close calls. I only have one good eye, and I have to make it last my whole life. My left eye has always been extremely bad ever since I was born , so my right eye has to do all of the seeing. If I do anything to damage my right eye, I'm screwed. So that means prescription safety glasses along with a full face mask when I'm around any kind of cutting tool (Torch, Angle Grinder, Saw-zall, etc.). I put those rules on myself because I would rather not be blind in the future.
I haven't had any bad injury's scrapping aside from the ice pick incident (There is actually a thread about that somewhere on here) and the sunburn I seem to get every time I go to the scrapyard. I have some really bad farmers tans from that, especially along the back of my neck. Aloe Vera sooth's the soul.
Dang Auminer, that's a pretty mean bump! I doubt Friday's gonna see it healed either ; ) You be careful out there man. I've dealt with clearance warehouses that would cut some slack on removal deadlines under some circumstances, maybe yours would too

The last time my ankle looked that nasty color was when a 50 tv tower hit me in the leg and tried to drive it into the ground.
I ended up with 3 broken bones, one on each side and tore the spur in the back where the tendon fastens to the bone.
I don't have any pics but my worst injury was having a 20k btu ac fall on my chest .no major damage but I did go to the hospital to be safe .dang thing weighed at least 150 lbs.ned less to say I was very badly bruised .it was agony to move lol .laid in bed for 3 days lol
I cleaned out my shed of old boards with nails left by the previous owner, and hurriedly threw them in front of the storage chest
I use to store my cans. The grass was high,and hid the boards with rusty nails out of sight. I forgot about them as I went to load more cans into the chest, and a 2" rusty nail went through my Converse shoe and into my foot. I let out a yell, as my neighbor and his kids who were playing catch turned around. I had to sit on the chest, and pulled this 3 foot board with nail, out of my foot as they watched
in amazement...No I didn't go to the ER, I just washed it with peroxide, and anti bacterial creme, and hoped for the best. All is good so far..I've sliced up my hands pretty good breaking stuff down...It comes with the territory tho..
