Dear friend I am a newer member I have did a ton of reading and there is a lot of great info on here. I found some post on not putting stuff in mail boxes. I was just wondering about signes on telephone pole and signes on the side of the road in high traffic places like you always see. Any info or direct me to a old post. Thank you so much Dave
Check with the city or area you are in. They may have certain rules about posting signs on public property or in road right of ways. One thing you could do is a sign or something on your vehicle. Mobile billboard. Some c-stores have bulletin boards inside by the restrooms check with them about posting.
also, it would be more cost effective to make a couple of magnetic signs for your vehicle then it would be to continue to produce flyers and roadside signs. As an added bonus I think you may be able to get a tax break on your vehicle if you use it to adverise your business... but not completely sure.
As far as I know, opening one persons mailbox that is not yours is trespassing (illegal). I usually put a magnetic business card on the box if I see a need to do so. Different states could have different laws though.
Mailboxes are federal. No state laws involved. It is a federal offense to put anything in or on a mailbox without postage attached.Quote:

That being said, if you feel the need to post a sign on a pole, please just tape it on. Think about the next guy that has to climb that pole and may end up with your rusty staple in his hand as he ascends it.

The small wire/plastic signs are illegal in a lot of Ohio. They don't enforce it a lot but you'd be smart to call the town offices before putting anything out.
How about a costumed advertiser? You could be a dancing washing machine or refrigerator

Not in VA. People post on telephone poles all the time. Almost at every intersection you see some sort of advertising. Most are on bandit signs though.Quote:

I dont know about you all but I was thinking of contacting the bus stop bench people and seeing how much they want to put an ad up there. Has to be good eye traffic how many times have you seen the place your ad here stuff on the benches? I know the one at the end of my street is available and im seriously considering getting the spot.

I know I used to work for VDOT, and 70% of what my crew did was taking down bandit signs at certain, populated areas. The reason why we did this, was because you go to one intersection and could see like 60 signs (no lie).
I do know that the signs I see on poles, do not go past the poles except for maybe a few inches, but the people who have put them up, have been respectful enough not to put them right in eye sight so it obstructs your view.

most all of the above mentioned companys are in the "sacred cow" heard and are protected by laws presented through lobbiest, they can enforce them at will. fortunately many don't, but that dosen't make it legal.
