Can't say much for your parents, but there is some kind of soap that auto mechanics use, and that stuff works miracles getting all kinds of stuff off your hands. Haven't needed to use it in a while, so cant think of the name, but should be able to google it.

Another good thing to use is the byproduct of making b100...that will clean your hands and wash away oil very easy. Not sure on ink...but if your clothes are oily...let them sit in the glycerin and then rinse them off and wash them in the water...they come out clean the first time.

glycerin is part of the byproduct of making bio diesel....another great thing you can get as a byproduct is a slimy soap that is made from the glycerin....its slimy feels weird..an looks nasty...but it will make your skin soft as hell. Will keep that in mind. I plan soon to be going with a company called Unifirst http://www.unifirst.com/ for uniforms. Very cheap for what you get, and when things get torn or dirty beyond cleaning, it is replaced for free.Quote:

There is another company similar (cant think of the name) that is just like Unifirst that my in laws currently use but they suck majorly. for your hands, you can use "lava soap" it has pumice in it. but THE BEST thing to get is called goop. its a hand cleaner and gets anything off your hands! we stock up and swear by it for oil, gas, paint, varnish, anything.
I work in a printing plant and we use solvents for the ink. I get ink all over my hands daily and one swipe with ethyl acetate or isopropyl acetate and its gone. We use it to thin the inks but also for cleaning up ink spills too. It takes care of grease, oil, varnish and ink in your case 'tude. The stuff we use can't be bought in stores but something close should work like mineral spirits, etc. Just a thought!
People will vacuum up anything.
A month or so I picked up one full of powdered bleach.

Thanks for all the replies and tips everyone! My hands are still black today after scrubbing with everything I had in the house - unbelievable!! I'm going to go to the car parts store tomorrow and see what they have, maybe some of the things mentioned here. I just can't believe it stains so bad!!
