In Billings, Montana (As of Saturday), Dirty Aluminum is still at $0.10 per pound. Shred is at $60/Ton ($0.03 per pound).
In Wyoming, shred is at $30 per ton. The yard will likely lower it to $20/Ton soon, though.
Whole vehicle batteries .27/lb. Down from .34 2-3 weeks ago. I made $1.92 profit on my last load of batteries. Better than losing, but definitely my hardest-earned two bucks in recent memory!

This is a price list from a yard at exit 1 in Clarksville and it was from last week. They update their website daily so I'll bet the prices are lower now. I only take my shred there. I use a yard in Millersville, Tn. and sell my aluminum and insulated copper there and then there is another new yard off Cowen street in downtown Nashville where I sell my #1 and #2 copper and aluminum cans. I'm not sure about Hermitage Metals but I know there is a yard off of Central Pike in Hermitage. I've never been there but I need to call and talk to them.
I didn't sell any scrap last week, but yesterday I sold copper #2, yellow brass and #2 insulated wire. Thirty pounds of #2 copper was paid $1.95, I haven't checked my spread sheets, but think that's $.40 lower than price I got just before Christmas. Yellow brass nineteen pounds was paid $1.45. I don't need to check anything to know that is the lowest in several years! #2 insulated wire fifty one pounds and only paid $.55 a pound (very sad). Told the manager I'm going to sell half and hold half until prices on the red metals start going in the other direction. He told me copper is not bottomed out yet! I sell this same yard all of my 300 stainless and all aluminum. He said Aluminum is down a couple of pennies but holding solid.
Tomorrow I'll make a trip to my steel yard, not ready for that disappointment. I can't see trying to hold piles of steel and darn sure can't eat it, so will need to sell and forget about once WAS! Then again five years ago we were throwing the steel away, I know that was stupid. It will be over 3,000 pounds of steel and 300 to 400 pounds of cardboard, lets see how many pennies difference between tin and cardboard. Need to sell the cardboard because there's a 30% chance of rain on Sunday. Rain is what we need more than anything, so that is good!
Ryanw I'm a little jealous of your #2 copper and extrusion price, was that this last week? Wondering about the week, as I'm trying to gauge the effect of scrap prices, due to last weekends dock shutdowns on the west coast. Just a three day shutdown and it really backed things up at San Pedro and Long Beach!
Cleaning up the work area and had to dump off a few things to make room for a law office clean out coming up. Dismal prices down here:

Thats was my miserable pay scale this past week. 680 lbs shred and a whopping $27 and change pay day......
In Billings, Montana, the price of Electronic/Appliance E-Scrap was at $40/Ton.
After you told me it was $60/Ton, my friend came over and reported that Pacific was $50/Ton. Three prices now! :& So I called and jokingly ask the same yard guy, "Why did you lie to me?" He apologized and said he had Motherboard on the brain.
I've been meaning to tell you that you were right and that I'll be getting my reports from Wyoming from now on. ;)
That strategy will result in prices every few weeks- at best!
I take scrap there to pay my gas to go to Billings. Sadly, the $7 I received for the last load isn't really worth it!
Ouch! That is brutal, matador. It's still an hour drive for me. I'm actually closer to Wyoming than I am to Billings. But I try to go at least once a month...depending on prices. HAA!
my main yard is about 1 mile from me and on the same street I do alot of shopping and errands, so I took some steel barrels and other misc steel with a few samples of wire to see what prices are.
good thing, as I found out much of my bare bright copper stripped wire has some copper/steal wire that a magnet stuck to. so I took it back home to get to work taking out the magnetic parts
steel is down to 100/ton from 140/ton a month ago here in chicago
#2 copper up to 1.95 from 1.80 a month ago

Hobo - That's a nice little perk your yard has, a good thing for you to use to your advantage (like brown boards). So when you subtract the dime perk, has your cooper/brass scrap gone up or down in last month? Thanks for sharing your prices from most recent scrap sale.
Thanks Hobo - Just been trying to keep up with direction coppers is going. Nothing better then getting feedback from a scrapper. As we all know copper peaked about this same time four years ago (March 2011). Most of 2011 it stayed above $4 per pound (market spot price). Overall copper has had a linear downward trend since the start of 2012. Hit a five year low last week of January of this year ( we all felt that), below $2. 50 per pound. Has been trending up last six weeks, with a $.30 gain since that five year low in January.
As a scrapper we won't see much of a price increase (if any), with only a $.30 market spot price increase. I do think it has hit it's low and is going to settle in and stabilize somewhere around $2.90 for remainder of this year. Stability is the best thing we can "Hope" for.
I still holding my #1 Copper, but will sell some #2 Cu, brass and insulated this week and will post my numbers here.
Sold some #2 Cu, Yellow Brass, Stainless Steal, Cast Aluminum and CRV Plastic Pete today. The #2 Cu was up five cents from three weeks ago, got $2.05 today. That's better than prices in February ($1.95 then), so slightly up, but only half of spot market gains. Yellow brass was $1.45 today, that's same price for last 12 weeks. SS was only $.40 today that's down five cents from last month. Cast aluminum $.55 the same price for last four months. CRV plastic PETE is $1.16 also unchanged. So overall just OK, thankful that copper has stopped going down!
Took in a load today. The prices have a + $.10 bonus as after 10 trips to this yard you get an extra dime per pound on everything you bring in for that trip.
