You guys gotta get one of those prepaid cards, that you can load from walmart. I use one, an it's awesome. Avoid ebay fees, etc etc. Have the buyer drop 5.00 to load it, pass you the # boom! instant money on your card..no wait, no delays.
I use accountnow but there are plenty out there.
Glad to see someone taking away from the WU/Moneygrahm mafia. I'm going to keep an eye out on the walmart thing. That an my card will be awesome.

Had a deal with WU couple of weeks ago...never again.
I have read that some employers are starting to use Walmart's pre paid cards instead of paychecks. Olddude I like the sound of instant money, will go good with my "Money Tree", just messing with you! LOL.
I hear the gubmint has these cards that people use just like money....
Maybe I ought to get me one of them...
SSAL, what do you mean by having the buyer drop $5 ?
Maneddi I'm assuming to load the card it's gonna cost $5 but that's better than having to wait.
When you add money to a prepaid like mine(accountnow) you have to pay a 5.00 fee to add it on. So either the buyer could pay it, or I reckon the seller. Afterall it's just 5 bucks. I use my card instead of a real credit card. No bill every month, direct deposit, can use it as credit or debt, rent a car, everything you can do with a credit card. They sell the green dot reloadable card at Wal-mart, CVS, Wal-greens, an many other major retailers.
For those that never used such a thing..Go to a store, buy the card(5.00) activate it, in a week or so they'll send you a new card with your name on it(just like a regular credit card from a bank). Then you buy the reloadable card(5.00 again) an then you can either use the phone or internet to add the money to your card. If a buyer did this, he'd have to send you the number on the back of the re-loadable card. I think it's better then WU whose fees go anywhere from 5.00 for up to 50.00, 10 for 100-200, etc etc. Same with Money Gram. You avoid the fees from them, you avoid the fee's from paypal, so no more double dipping by eBay.
This might explain it better.. https://www.moneypak.com/. I save a lot of money this way personally. No bank fees, or any of that jazz. I add it to my card as I need to. The only downside is the monthly fee which is 10 bucks, but if you have direct deposit, there is no fee with Accountnow. I've used them for..oh, bout..10 years or so? Something like that.
Anyway..hope it helps, an mods sorry if I shouldn't have put the link, but it's on topic an explains it a bit better then I do.

Whatever happened to Western Union? I still use it, I still do money orders yes it involves a whole 3 or 4 minutes of decent penmanship at the kiosk but you can get yourself a money order (as a buyer) and send out as much money as you need and it's better than risking bouncing a check or stressing out the customer. I personally am too cheap to want it now if it means I save 5 or ten bucks later. I hate walmart, I hate those stupid fees. Yes I have a business account with paypal, yes I use it but only at request. Yes I have and use ebay, but I utterly hate it, it's the last stop before the scrap yard on most of my resellables. Also not to be "that guy" but they still charge transaction fees and double fees at ATMs (fee for the bank's atm and fee for using an atm) Read the fine print guys...NOT a good idea. Personally if you have to have it now and lets say were talking a pretty big sum, I'd rather use Western Union or a wire transfer bank to bank.
I'm not a fan of wally world either but last time I walked out of WU I was wondering where my free jar of Vaseline was.
Western Union Money Order might work good for the person sending but if you are on the receiving end there is zero customer service. No live person when trying to call and if you go into one of the many places that display the signage they will not verify funds or cash it out no matter how much ID you have.
Just a tip for people who get re loadable and non re loadable(gift cards). SIGN THE BACK!!!!
I picked up three of these cards so far this spring and with no number or name the best I can do is not let it go to waste;)
:))
Name the card and last transaction and I will;)
The reloadable's are just like a regular card, should have the person's name on it, etc etc.
The regular prepaid's can be registered online usually like..visa/giftcard.com etc etc. Register an sign them.
Sirscrapalot - It's to nice out, no quote.
Why would you need multiple IDs ALWAYS use the question and answer, name or not, get that right they give you the money. But I wasn't referring to the wire transfer specifically, more like money orders. My bank still issues them for 45 cents, certified mailer 1.00, avg continental US delivery, 2-3 days.
My experience with WU an MG on picking up money have always been...have control number an it doesn't matter what ID you have. lol.
Money orders for me cost to darn much to be worth it, and a hassle. No fun standing in 7-11 getting an 800.00 money order an having the clerk say it loud enough everyone can hear. Heh. I use paypal, or transfer, or get a reload card if the person I'm dealing with uses them also.
Only downside to a card like mine is it doesn't count towards your credit building. For good or bad it never gets added to your credit report.
For people like me tired of being nickle an dimed by the big banks, it's yet another option in the arsenal. Tween my card, my Credit Union account, I'm good.
Sirscrapalot - 75 an beautiful today...water temp = 48 :(
Was just meaning for those that count on it helping them. Only credit card I use is the one I mentioned above. I don't like other people in my pocket. If I need a credit, chances are I don't need whatever it is I'm looking at. With the exception of vehicles. I'm not to the point yet where I can just walk an drop 30k in cash on a new ride. ;)
I'd give up my credit Union, but I enjoy being a member of Navy Federal. They treat me right when it comes time for me to need them.
Sirscrapalot - Charge it...then again..don't.
Any one who still has their money in a bank other then a 100% local small town bank needs to study the bankster rules and quickly move their money to a credit union. According to current world banking rules once you deposit your money it is no longer yours it is theirs.
Last year we wanted to go on a vacation wife went down to the bank where she keeps family money to draw out $7000 they told her it would be 3 days. I went over 2 blocks away to the Tyndall federal credit union where I keep my business account and got her the $7000 in 5 min.

You are correct, double checked and one that i thought was re-loadable was not... Awww shucks;)

I realise this is a bit unusual to many people these days, but what's wrong with cash? Does anyone under 40 remember cash? Your plastic card won't work if the power is down, it won't work if the phone lines are down. Your plastic card leaves a lovely trail allowing companies to track your spending habits.
Cash always works...
I use both. ;)
Mostly operate on cash, but to rent a car here by me, I need to use a card. It makes it easier to with some folks, can't be just mailing cash around all willy nilly. Heh. Plus some of my bills I have to pay online, to pay electric in person is a pain, so I do it online, no mean lady to deal with at the counter, and quick an easy. I use cash tho for most things.
Love my card tho, but I like cash even better.
