Just a quick tip. Anytime you get a vehicle you are going to scrap.. Always remember to check the speakers in the back deck as well as the door panels. Ya never know what you may end up with. Case in Point. Just got a full set of Rockford Fosgate Speakers out of a car.

Ya indeed! My first car, 1996 Plymouth neon, got for $150, beat the living s@!t out of it and will be scrapping it soon and has a nice pioneer radio, and the 4 speakers were all put in by my dads mechanic who owned it last!!

I always do. I like to check under seats and trunk well for amps. I also pull up the bottom of the back seat. Never know what's under a back seat. I've found lots of money and a couple real diamonds. I check every spot in a car. Sun visor pockets,behind the glove box,center console cup holder that lift out,ect. Some people like to hide stuff in odd places and forget about it.

I gotta say I have never found anything illegal in a car.. and hope that streak continues. If I ever do.. it will stay in the car.. hmburner..if only you lived in Indiana.. you may have gotten something someday. I don't touch that stuff.. never have.. never will. I've been lucky and haven't ether. Some good advice is if you ever find a gun,turn it in. You can get in a crap load of trouble if you keep it. It could be stolen or used in a murder. I don't find it worth the trouble that may come from keeping one.Quote:

Yeah if I buy a vehicle, I own all the contents as well, unless an specific item is previously prior to me taking possession, period ! That cd player, which has a serial number, could be and is more likely stolen than a 22. If you find a desert eagle in a 200$ car I would be supiscous, but people misplace or forget guns as well as anything else.Quote:

As far as hiding places, on a 99 Taurus, passenger dash air bag panel lifts up real easy. Mine kept popping up and I checked under it and previous owner had stashed all kinds of paperwork about the wrecked car and the body panel receipts. Even a registration or two. Perfect place to stash a gun or dope.
As a side note, you know there's a reason they call it "dope". lol

The beauty of getting cars with car audio- this one had a Zero gauge cable that ran from the battery under the hood... all the way down to the trunk of a large 4 door sedan.. CHA CHING!
Last ranger I got had a nice set of ken wood speakers I'm it nothing real fancy but a quick 50 on craigslist. And while your on the topic of illegal things in cars don't look to hard , I've seen drug dealers make custom stash spots in cars that look like they belonged in the junk yard 10 years ago you never know what you'll find in those
Man I need a place to really "work" on the cars I get. I never check them out like you guys do and I often get a little upset when I crush something and don't make much of a return on it. I'm sure I've sent some good speakers away. I need more time with these buggers to figure out there secretes! I did score a couple 8ft sections of 2 gauge wire from a pair of buick lesabre's - took me a minute to find the **** battery but once I did i noticed the cable. I'll be using these to run to the 12v quick disconnect on the front and rear of my pick-up for my receiver mounted winch - if I find another one i'll definitely be taking the cable =)
I work on the car- on the trailer. Once I pick-up, she isn't coming off that trailer until the big CLAW at the yard clamps her roof and flicks her into a big pile of shred like a ragdoll. I was out gutting the aluminum wiper motors, wiring, taillights and spoiler off a car yesterday.. in the rain. I won't melt.. and the return on investment should be awesome. So even if you don't have a garage to work on these cars.. it's no biggie.. more about letting the $ drive you to your goals. I've been out in the heat, the rain, the freezing arse cold, snow-- you name it.. When there is cash to be made. I'm there- no matter the weather!Quote:
