Me and campers lol

driving around yesterday behind 2 other scrappers, I got nothing -UNTIL I come up on a pop up camper with a ''FREE'' sign on it! Had the wrong size ball of course so had to run home to get the correct one. I mean, who'da thunk I'd need an extra different size ball in my truck because I'd happen upon something like that lol!! It never happened before!

I think I'll tear it down to the frame and sell the frame separately.

That big one took me 40 hours, this tiny one shouldn't take even one day going at it balls to the wall with 95 hundred light shining o it after it gets dark.

I got every thing out before it got dark, all thats left is 3 bottom sides and the floor. Looooooooottta wood. no lights on the back of the garage, I should talk to dad about that lol.

It has a NICE spare tire for it too, brand new. I should be able to sell the frame out of the front yard no problem.

make an extra trailer to throw your processed metal in. when its filled hook up and go to yard.

Leave the sides and floor and you'll have an extra trailer or you could sell it for some good money. just my .02

That is pretty cool. Will be waiting to hear some yields from that.

Just "funning" with ya.. You should go back and ask this guy if he has anything else- if the camper goes.. and the sign goes with it- who knows WHAT else he has a need to "rid himself of!!"

I have a motion sensor with 2 - 150 watt fluorescent lights on it, that way I don't have to remember to turn lights on and off.
And the fluorescent lights run cheap and last and last.

Everything is more fun when you use a BFH. LOL.

We had a pop up just like that. Sold it to upgrade to a bigger one. The bigger one is now pretty much toast so we will be giving it the teardown soon.

happyscraper, thats an awesome idea! However, this thing, I have been kicking it apart its so old and weak, it never would have withstood holding scrap. I ''tough'' tested it after reading your post and theres just no way.

I turned in 20 lbs of extrusion from the top half of the camper today (including the door). Whats going to be left is the sheet metal from the roof and bottom sides and the frame.

I have a small sink and stove top waiting to be turned in and the wiring is about 4 lbs total. Most of that was from the main line - what wired the lights fit in the palm of my hand.



Honestly, I probably wouldn't do one of these again because the amount of wood/insulation/cushion/plastic/canvas ''garbage'' seemed to be most of the camper. However, it was free, I can burn the wood waste and it was a learning experience.

Its raining cats and dogs here now so once it stops I will finish it and post my totals but, I honestly don't see the remaining aluminum weighing much more than 30 lbs if that. So, this kinda gives an idea for anyone wanting to do one of these.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you all I RAN from the wolf spiders in this thing, they were frickin HUGE!!!!!! 8-l

I have both a weight distribution hitch and I have a separate adjustable Tri-ball. I wish the WD hitch was a tri-ball, I miss having it on the truck- always nice to pull a pin, spin it and boom.. haul any trailer you need to in seconds!

During the spring an summer, I had this huge spider, that made a home on the corner of my house. Where you would enter the car port after coming down the stairs. It made some awesome webs, an helped keep the bugs away..lol. I named it Charlotte. An told my wife I need to find a baby pig I could name Wilbur. lol.

Sorry had to share, as the wolf spider made me think of it! ;)
