500 bajillion....love to see the pictures of all the copper.
Sorry Brasscatcher i just learned how to down load pic's if i rember right 275-300 lbs in each
50 ton capacity unit, the majority of it looks like ductwork, 8 tons on the weight
should've put the heavy end close to the crane
WOW.....even sideways thats a nice pick up.
I was talking from my rigging background. I assumed it was going up, not coming down.
I'm going to guess 200 ton unit and it weighs 19,000 lbs.
I under stand the trailer has a tilt it goes up and the trailer pulls out and hopefully leaves the unit, the weight from the compressors helps being in the back as i am sure you know being a rigger
No to high
NO to High i wish they were two hundred they are deceiving
Oh my.....that......... that's a lot of copper. Now I have to scroll back at the picture, slowly take off my indoor sunglasses, and dream about these marvelous pieces of technology and the goodies they behold.

Looks to be about a 100 ton unit. On big units like that I usually figure about 90 pounds of clean radiator and 3 pounds of copper per ton. Would be interested to see the final numbers for my file. Thanks for the pics!
You are close joe you now your S--T
Thanks again parttime for the tinypic info
Whats your Guess?
The unit were 85 unit ton each, they weighed a little more than 12,000 lbs after being stripped the coils were 710-735 from each the copper weighed an avg of 245 lbs we recovered an avarge of 70 lbs of r-22 freeon also had eight large compresors and eight nice electric motors plus lots of wire
Thanks for the info! I just realised that I put 90 instead of 9 pounds of radiators per ton. Time to get new proof reading glasses.
Were the compressors the orange recip ones?
you are welcome freon joe
North of Fort Worth, there is a refinery that pays 6.80 a pound for r22. We have a 100 pound tank and they take it when it is 80% full.
We are getting $7.00 a lbs in FL for r-22 why not a 30 lbs can is selling for clos to 500.00 now
1956, I thought you might be pulling my leg on the 500.00 a can until I called my supply houses. Here it ranges from 485.00 to 560.00 a can. Every one of them offered to pre-pay for a pallet of R22 if I would fire back up and start reclaiming again!
You may wanna check the model, serial #'s of the compressors with a Hvac supply house
as they may have a core value.I have seen some core values pay very, very well!
the compressors i think you are talking about are semihermactis ,i did a copple of large chillers last year and did get 300 a piece for them, these comressors were not that type oooowell
