So I realize that ram (specifically 1gb) sell for more than scrap prices. Doesn't really matter on the manufacturer, just as long as you price it right, it will definitely sell.
However, my question is this, aside from testing the ram, if you are selling more than 1 stick of ram, does both sticks need to be from the same manufacturer?
Matched pairs sell better and at higher prices than mixed pairs. I would sell them individually or in a lot if you cant match them up.
Make sure your testing the ram GEO nothing stinks more than getting a ram stick back for it failing memtest even it boots up the machine. Also invest in antistatic bags to ship them in.
i am saving up the 1gb sticks that wont pair up to sell to pts, laptop ram chips 512mb and higher do very well on ebay though

The 1gb stick usually sell for $8-$10 per stick that is why i would prefer not to sell them at $2 each. The 1gb sticks i cant pair up or move i have no problem selling at $2 each.

This solution has worked for me and we go through pretty high volumes of memory at times (hundreds/thousands at a time).

i finally found a buyer that pays a premium for 512mb ram sticks, contact phillyscrapbuyer in the buyers section if interested
I was quoted the following prices for high capacity scrap ram sticks:
512mb ddr2 .65
512mb DDR .75 to $1
1gb $2 to 3
2gb $4+

Had a buyer complain about a 1gb stick today. I just issued them a full refund and blocked them. Its not worth the hastle of going thru the claim/ return process on ebay for a $6 sale. I didnt test the ram but 90% or returns are caused by incompatibility so its hard to tell for sure. The ram stick is probably good. but by the time i get it back and relist it all the money is gone, best to issue a prompt full refund and walk away.

Heck no I would make them send it back to me and test it. If it worked I would file that with ebay make them pay for return shipping again. What you will notice though is that if they file a case with ebay and its less than $10 ebay will just do a no fault settlement and pay the buyer back all the money they spent and not require buyer to send the item back. At this same time the buyer gets to keep thier money as well. I guess if its cheap enuff they figure its not worth thier time to run the claim either.Quote:
