Dang, I just cashed in about 60 pounds of cans last Saturday for .55 per lb. I would've loved .80.
aluminum spot price is 94 cents, the yard can still make money buying at 80 cents
Several new yards came to town with big prices. Most of the older yards that had coupons to match price + .01 or .02 cents stopped as they could not make any money doing this. The 3 newest places are offering .75-.95 a pound for them.

why do they even care about cans in arizona when theres millions of tons of scrap aluminum sitting at those bases down there, i drove past endless rows of jets/planes when i was down there
I get 5 cents per can.
Seems my yard is scrogging me over. $0.35 right now. All our cans get cashed in and the money goes in the kids account. Helps with their bikes and toys they want.

The deposit charged at the register (California Redemption Value or CRV) is 5 cents for all containers 23 oz or less and 10 cents if it's 24 oz or more. $2.16 in Ca. with coupon at my yard. I must say it is awesome when I turn those cans in but, I really hate looking at the receipt from the grocery store after paying CRV!

Oh man am I getting robbed! We have the .05 deposit here so I get that for most cans, but all other cans (iced tea, etc.) only pay .16/lb. Seems criminal to be that low.

Here in the UK Sims quoted £0.35 ($0.55)per KG or £0.16($0.25) per lb , was £0.75/Kg a year ago!!!

.55 last week in concord nc. luckily i live at corner of 2 interstates and have a major road out front that people use as their aluminum can redemption center. lol
$2.20 for aluminum cans, that's the best ever. Normal is about $2.10/$2.15 I deal with three different scrap yards. One of the yards I haven't been using for CRV gave me the $2.20 rate yesterday. Don't know why 5 cent raise but no complaints, I do 8 to 12 LBS. in cans and 10 to 12 LBS. in CRV plastic ($1.15/LB.) every week. Ever little bit adds up to real $$$$.
What is a case of beer or pop in CA???
