Ebay Auction in GA. Passing it along.
Large Lot of Desktop Computers, Laptops, Monitors, and Computer Peripherals (TR) | eBay
Nice Find. The bad part is that a company that would like to refurb would snatch that up with no problem and bring lots of cash.
wow this is a sweet deal that would keep me busy for months
The laptops are what is gonna make that go way beyond. I buy from alot of the refurb people and guess what they been selling me. Every danm p4 computer tower known to man. Some sell there stuff they fix to 3rd world countries, Word is none of the general public is looking for normal towers anymore they all want laptops.
I just threw a bid of 2600 and was outbid immediatly LOL....I think I'll go 3000
I went 3000 and still outbid.....If nothing else I drive these auctions up all day long
Lol mike if you want that much stuff that bad i got a auction in Northern FL that is 12 pallets of equipment that no one will touch at 1000. Same amount of laptops and computers, plus servers and did i mention the crts LOL.
In the 3rd pic i see a few dell xps, prolly worth $100+ each. The 2nd pic apple computers mostly g5's, those will bring $80 each all day long. Lcd monitors $30-$50 each if they work. I see an easy $6000 in resale, plus another $4000 in scrap. And that is on the conservative side.
Lol jgn and this is why i never win at the live auctions when a refurb is there as well.
I might take it but georgia is pretty close
I was outbid at 3200
If all are dead might not be a great deal. As is where is scares me! Especially if stripped or what not.
Mike...this interests me as well. I'm about an hour 1/2 from Athens. Can throw some $$ into the pot.
Dunemal...send a link to the N. Florida auction if your not gonna bid on it
Mike you still driving the price up lol. This auction is going to go thru the roof I bet.
I would be curious to see if a Fee-Bay/Prey Pal Scammer wins this one ?
They Take Prey Pal , Local Pick Up Only , and No Returns or Exchanges ,
But Covered By Fee Bay Buyer Protection ( with 45 days from the date of payment to file )
And the Seller Must show On Line Proof of Delivery with a signature if over $ 250 , ( Nothing else is excepted by Fee Bay )
eBay Buyer Protection
Can You see it now
Buyer pays with Prey Pal , Picks up Lot , Files that He never received the computers ,
Prey Pal ask the State of Georgia for there Proof of Delivery .
There is Nothing on viewable on line so buyer gets All His Money Back taken back from the state of Georgia Prey Pal account .
Please Note
Before anyone gets there panties in a knot
This is NOT a Lesson on How to Get Free Stuff On Fee Bay as that is discussed All Over The Internet
This Scam and many Others are done on Fee Bay everyday .
I would post a Horror Story or two from the Fee Bay Boards , but they are Yanked as soon as they are posted lately .
Ps
For those wondering
Since I cannot afford to give my stuff away , and pay to do it , I Do Not use Fee Bay or Prey Pal anymore , just to risky
Bandit
Not to thread jack, but do many of you use Amazon to sell instead of Ebay?
I just bid 4350..........If anyone on this forum is bidding don't drive it up against each other we can split it.........The way I figured it 435 computers you figure to make around 10 each if you scrap em leaving everything else for profit..........I'm sure it will probably go well over 5000 so I probably won't get it but I might as well drive the market (LOL).........If I can't get it might as well make someone else pay for it
Already outbid.....Less than 20 minutes I'm going to throw 5000 on it and forget it
I went 5000 and was automatically oubid.......Maybe i'll try 6000
I think i may be the shill bidder
LOL I went 5500 still outbid..........
Drive it up? Exactly! Every time you bid they'll take it back, "get away from MY stuff" mentality. The only time to "attend" an online auction is at the close, because the only thing that matters is who's ahead at the closing bell, so why set there driving it up. Wait, and watch, then bid before the close if it hasn't already passed your max.
PS looks like the university has all new computers, these are not scrap, they've merely been replaced with new ones. 99% of them probably work "right out of the box/pallet". The most likely thing that might be missing would be a good portion of the RAM, which could possibly go to upgrade any of the older ones which didn't get replaced (aside from the hard drives, already noted as having been removed)
I wouldn't be surprised to see that reach closer to 15K, maybe even nearer 20
Why not drive it up If I have no intention on actually winning it......To hell with the competition and make them overpay especially if they are sending it overseas......They will eventually figure out this is not profitable and leave our stuff alone and in our country....Don't get me started Bear LOL
lol! Mike, don't get "stuck" ; )
You're dealing with ebay, paypal, and the government, not sure which is worse, I sure wouldn't want em all together tho! lol
Its around 8000 now this is going for crazy numbers way beyond me.........I don't think my bids even mattered LOL
lol Mike, go ten! lets see what happens then! :D man! this is fun! Try 12!
I'm almost tempted to go over there and camp out for a day or so after the auction. See who picks them up and where they go :)
Its at over 15000
just checked Ga, ebay it is at 15100.00
if i was the seller id make sure i got proof that the person picking up the stuff is the person that bought it, get a photocopy of there id and get them to sign a form stating exactly what they picked up.

This is old thread but here is a lot they just listed
I just picked up a lot that i won on an auction site today, i walked out of there with 6 pentium 4 towers, 4 servers, a heavy ass avaya rack mount UPS, a printer the size of a 10 year old kid, scanner, projector, 6 flat panel dell monitors, switches, KVMs, unopened toner cartridges (i think it was 8 of them) keyboards, mice and all of the cables for everything, oh... and a full box of cat6 CMR. Pricetag on this one... $158.50 and a 40 mile drive. I think I'll call this one a chicken dinner. Only thing that didn't power right up was the projector. I can sell the box of cat6 for $110 on craigslist by 9am.
That lot sold for $15,100. That is pretty scary without a manifest. I would have to assume someone did an inspection before they bought the lot. Otherwise I think it would be hard to make that money back.
