DO NOT STEAL, if you're not sure, ASK. If there's nobody to ask, DON'T TAKE IT!
Absolutely ZERO tolerance for thieves on this forum.
That is all, pretty straight forward.
You would think that this would be a given... the people who steal make up a large percentage of why this industry is misunderstood/frowned upon.
Props to the admin for keeping the forum clear of these posts.

I would let them run their thieving mouths then post a big red t on each of their posts and one on their fore heads. That way every one would know who they are.

I dont like thieves. Two scrappers got in deep over here. One asked a farmer for scrap and the farmer said no, he replie with a im going to take it anways and theres nothing you can do

Every time I read a story about metal theft it really makes my blood boil :mad:.
I'm sure that most of us know unscrupulous scrappers.. buyers and sellers alike.. and in reality, there are probably a few folks on this forum who fall into this category. I agree i've had metal stolen from me luckily i'm large enough to recover from it about 16 tons of plate steel they left the aluminum and copper so that tells me they didn't know what they were doing

A few years back when copper was high someone stole several hundred feet of newly installed underground cabe, they were caught rather quickly when they tried to turn it in for scrap. Fiber optic cable just isn't worth very much, unless you count the cost of repair and downtime for the communication company and frustrated people who lost their internet, tv, and phone for a week. I can only imagine what that conversation at the yard was like: Sorry we can't take that, it doesn't have any scrap value What do you mean it's not worth anything, it's brand new? Wait right here while I call the boss and we'll see what we can do for you..... By by now. Drugs help people see the hidden value in every thing, even when it's not there.

Before I had door locks installed on my 1987 Chevrolet truck, someone stole the radio and speaker (Was a single speaker on the transmission hump). That was annoying, but the funny thing was that we found it at one of our pick up bins a couple of weeks later!
I guess they just "borrowed" it???
