I give them to Hoss.
Ok what is hoss?
Finally, a question that hasn't ever been asked. Am curious though, why it is under "introductions"?
ok thats the HOSS well i can't find the right way to postt a new post but this worked
hoss
1815, representing U.S. dialectal variant pronunciation of horse.

Urban Dictionary:
Hoss
A southern colloquial nickname for partner, a term of friendship.
hoss
one who is a beast that can basically do anything he wants. He is usually loved by all and a ladies man. He could break anyone or anything in half. Hoss is a compliment.
hoss
Pretty much, a badass.
There's no sort o' mistake in little Bullet. He can pick up miles on his feet, and fling 'em behind him as fast as the next man's hoss, I don't care where he comes from. And he can keep at it as long as the sun can shine without resting.
- Augustus Baldwin Longstreet
Scrap them, Id say id buy them but im good for now.
I'm guessing that Johny can't/won't read and that's not good cause all of our great information is in print form, you just have to search it out. And posting questions in the intro section ain't cool either.

I take mine to goodwill ..
didn't i just read somewhere that the goodwill thing was being discontinued ?
I hope not!
Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.

@Bear.....I post that Goodwill had run an ad in my area (Waterloo, IA) saying That. I don't know if that is for everywhere though. I do know they mentioned all of the counties in and around my area. In the ad they did mention having lost their connection with their down stream vendor. I will try to find a print form of the ad later today and post it in another thread.
I have a guy who ships them off to china I think!
Well people already make pallet homes, tire houses, etc...Why not start a new trend?....Monitor Motherships!
they run on imagination and redbull^
I read that as well. Just this month they stopped I guess. A few down near Milwaukee, WI still take them, but the corparate office has said their downstream dissolved. Not completely sure, but my Goodwill never accepted them, the director didn't want to deal with them I guess.
HOWEVER
Best Buy will take up to 3 items per household, per day, of monitors and TV's up to 32". They cannot be disassembled (You may get away with pulling boards or taking copper yokes, but I keep them whole as I get $5 for each one I take from a recycler up here so I'm fine with that alone). As soon as you get to the store, ask at the desk, and they give you a utility cart to bring them in the store. Then you leave..Simple!
Nearest best buy is about 70 Miles from here, but luckily I visit down there often to pick up scrap. So I guess some Goodwill stores may still take them, and Best Buy still does for sure!
I gut mine, reassemble them, and put them out by the curb. Inevitably, the Sunday night scrap patrol picks them up. I'm sure they aren't real happy when they get home though lol.
When they don't pick them up, Waste Management grabs them on trash day.
Johny I sent you a PM check your box.
I'll tell you one thing, you don't live here. Lol! If I put them out by the curb, they would stay there 'till I went and got them. Here the landfill charges $20 at least if not more to dispose of them. I charge $5, and mostly get them from someone who collects them for me. Then I take 3 at a time to Best Buy every time I go by it. I love it because it adds a few bucks here and there, and I always stop at Best Buy anyways. Gives me an excuse to visit ;)
If i could only get rid of 3 crts a day i would have mount Everest of glass is my back yard. TY FL <3 now please turn off the heat we get it already.
I get rid of them by the trailer load Dune. It's a PITA but worth it knowing they're recycled properly.
I'm almost done with these TV's anyway. No money in them anymore.
Yeah i just started selling yokes and degaussing cables whole to my buyer along with the boards and transformers
and dropped my prices on them alot. not a cash cow but it adds up with everything else.
Buying them is a lose/lose situation. One day you'll find that out. When i first started i did purchase some tv's/monitor's. But i soon realized that it wasn't worth it.
i dunno how i lose hoss i make 3x what i pay for them and can do 12 a hour. So i see it as a win in my book. Im happy making 24$ a hour after all said and done.
Haha that's fine. I'm just saying you'll figure out the better way eventually and stop wasting money. Their are so many sources for hundreds of free tv's a month it's crazy.
Also helps that I only do them once a week. The Escrap is flowin, just like ur saying time is better spent elsewhere. I just got time on my hands.
Today I'm doing my first monitor breakdown. Previously I passed CRTs because I didn't know what to do with them, and they were big and heavy. I watched a youtube video and picked up some yesterday. I thought the big capacitors that look like D cells must be worth something, so I searched and discovered the value is in the little button tantalum capacitors. That's another bucket to start filling.
An interesting surprise is the colors of copper wire. I have more red than blue and green. Now I'm thinking about Christmas trees made of wire. I could use plain wire for the trunk, but I would probably have to buy some green wire to have enough for the branches.
Some aircons/heatexchangers have a Ali 'tinsel' covered condensing coil, I have only found one & put it aside for Christmas. I can't find any pics of one.
Its a standard 6mm Ali tube with Ali tinsel spot welded to it over its full length. About 6 foot long when extended.
Yeah, I LOVE all the colours copper wire comes in.
Do your self a favor and snip some of the wire and look at the ends, you'll find some is alum. wire and some is copper, don't be fooled. These were alum. wire that came out of degaussing cables.
