Well...that was fun.

One of my many customer needed to sell a few items so...Well I go out there with some money and take a look at what all he had.

He had alot of small items not really worth much or nothing that I would want. But there where a few things to note.

Well...he had a 50inch slim TV real nice he wanted $500 for this...bit more than what I wanted to pay for so I passed it up.

Last item he showed me was a trailer.

The trailer is 18foot flat bed trailer with ramps. Its home built and...built like a tank. I will be taking photos of it most likely tomorrow. Here is the real kicker...I only paid $800 for it. You have to see this to see how good of a deal it is.

All I can say...even something that may seem like a total waste of time..can turn into a home run.

Lol I know right...I dont think I ever will have to worry about bending the frame on this trailer....them beams start from the front as you can see...and go ALL the way to the back end of the trailer as one beam...they are not cut and welded..so no weak point I can find.

Easy, that's not homemade...it's used to haul heavy eqip. Backhoes, Lite dozers DitchWitchs and such. You made out like a bandit...could flip that for $3K - $4K or more to someone that needs one.

Well there is no name and so S/N on the trailer so it looks like it was homemade or a company/shop built to me...but very well built...thats why I slapped the $800 down on it and took it.

Looks like a cut down mobile home frame made into an industrial trailer, I was just gauging it by the tongue.

Wow trailers with that big of beams usualy have duals under it. Im surprised to see single wheels. Good buy just make sure your have good rated tires under that tank.

I may slap duals on it later an yea I run 14ply on all my trailers...not sure whats on this one but when they pop I will slap on 14plys.

WOW! my neighbour had a similar unit made to haul his New Holland Skid Steer. (weighed 3.2 metric tons) and the trailer cost him $9,000 AUD to get built, and its not quite as heavy duty as this!

Thats a monster! LOL gunna kill your gas milage just hauling it empty... :)

No need for duals mate. a 6 ply Light Truck tyre can hold 1100kg on its own, so that would make these capable of over 4400kg Easily! ( - about 10,000 lb Plus)

but if your truck is only tow rated at like 6,000lb or something then tyre that are on it should be o.k.

I don't pay for my fuel one..and two..I drive a diesel..I get the same mileage empty or loaded...right around 16 17mpg

If anyones ever thinking of making a heavy duty trailer, I'd suggest using airplane wheels.

I used a trailer that had them once, so easy to push around by hand, real low friction bearings, large dia wheels.

When you start pushing it, the inertia takes over & you can bounce it up & over 1 foot high obstructions, like house foundations (thats where I was using it) The large dia wheels help here too.

The tires are made for over 100Mph & the rubber is several inches thick so you don't have to worry about nails etc, 'self sealing' I was was told too.

Dude you just made a killing congrats on the steal of a deal. You could always cut off that 2 inch ball and put a pinnel hitch on it and sell it for about six grand. IMO that trailer would haul 15,000 lbs at least.

Guess I should ask what kinda axles does it have on it? Are they 7000 lb or 5000 lb axles just a question?

Check the axles before putting a piece of equipment on it. But, whoever built this......is the beam running down the length 6 inches or more tall?.....probably didn't go cheap on the axles.

My 20 foot trailer has that kind of beam running down each side. It's a manufactured trailer, 2 six foot ramps with supports, has 5K lb rated dual axles; electric brakes on one with a 2 and 5/16th ball hitch.

The trailer you "stole" for $800 is probably built heavier than mine. It's easily a $3K trailer. If you measure the axles, you should be able to figure out the capacity.

HOW Wide is that trailer? I like the wheels tucked under the bed. That's my next trailer!!!!

The trailer is 8feet wide or so it takes up the WHOLE lane and you have to drive dead center as if your driving a dually ...have not gone up under the trailer as of yet but the rims are 6lugs so its a good axle up under it.

The hitch is a bolt on from the side...kinda hard to explain I should be out there some time tomorrow and will take a photo to show you what I mean.

Both axles have electric brakes installed and the trailer is just under 20feet long from top of bed to bottom of bed

Looks like short in the photo but that sucker is pretty long

Not sure on the size of the beams but they are large for sure. I will get a tape on them tomorrow for a check.
