I received about 30 or so transformers and as we were going through them, we founds these in there. I dont know how a transformer actually works but I was suspecting the silvery metal on them to be silver. Any of you out there know what it is?

Aluminum
Thanks a bunch man. I wasn't sure if it was aluminum or silver and I didn't wanna make a stupid mistake lol.
I could be wrong but that looks like a contact point. If so it will be silver/*cadmium alloy.
If its epoxied on then its aluminum. If its soldered on then its probably a silver alloy.
Well it is definitely a silver alloy. I just used a torch to heat up the solder and the pieces fell right off. By the weight alone, I can say with certainty that it is not aluminum. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I could not imagine a contact point with voltage going thru it being alum. it would arc too easy and pit.
So how much is this silver alloy worth in oz or pounds?
Depends on the percentage of silver and what it's alloyed with.
