Item Identification - Stainless Steel Medical Table?

My tenant broke the lease and moved away. He left behind all kinds of stuff. One of the items was this table/bed.

It is non-magnetic, so I assume that it's stainless. There is a tag on the bottom which is mostly worn off, but I can read ""Shampaine". After googling it, I found out that Shampaine is a maker of medical supplies like Operating tables and Exam tables. The thing is, I can't find any model number on the table I have, and none of the one's I've found online were the same style.

If anyone has any clue what exactly I have, or could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated. I'm sure that this table is worth more as-is than as scrap.

What does it weigh?

Nice table but scrapping it would prob be the fastest way to get rid of unless you have a place to store it and market it........Very interesting though

I would also try to sell it to food places ?

To me it looks like a bed or an autopsy table...basically something that whoever is laying on it wouldn't care that its uncomfortable.

I don't have the means to weigh something this large right now. I would guess that it only weighs about 40lbs, but I'm not very good at guessing these things.

Definitely NOT a food prep table, the raised end indicates it is a bed of some type and would not be conducive to food prep.
Nor is it an autopsy table, no drainage holes.
Looking up Shampaine tables, I see that they make several types. However, for this to be of use to anyone you would
need the pads that attach to it.
My suspicion is that anyone who would have use for this table (doctors) would have the means to buy a new one and would
not go hunting for a way to buy replacement pads just to save a few bucks.

I'd scrap it and be done. There is a point of diminishing returns.

Hit it with the grinder, if it sparks and non magnetic its ss

Could also be a massage table. But those usually have a hole in them so you can lay face down. Hard to tell what it was without seeing the padding that would have been on it.


If it was me I would just scrap it.

Use it for a work bench.

Might work for a break down table.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really don't have room for another table or bench right now, so it's gotta go.

I Googled it a bit and it appears Shampaine is a surgical table manufacturer. I know you say you want to move it, but I would try to sell it first as they seem to be of high value. Where are you located in PA? I am in Maryland and maybe we can make a deal if you do not want to worry about storing it, unless of course you have already scrapped it. PM me if you are interested.

Looks like it would make a nice Deer Processing table. Mount a meat grinder on the top and put a bowl on the lower section. Being your from Pa take a picture of it and stop by some of the places that process deer they might buy it.

I definitely like your line of thinking ;). I'm an avid hunter myself, and process my own deer. I might need to consider adopting your idea.
