Missed out due to regulations

My wife works at Wal-mart and I just got a call from them asking if I wanted more than 100 shopping carts.... uhhhh yeah! Well they have corporate policies and they weren't getting much support from corporate getting rid of them. They wanted them to "disappear". So I told them that I needed written permission and they said they couldn't do it w/o getting into trouble... the kind of trouble thieves get into. So I called two separate yards on a wing and a prayer....... no go.....

You win some and you lose some. Bummer :(

sell them to the homeless as pedi pickups. that said I dont get within a mile and a haqlf of walmart, I had dealings with them when I was scrapping abandon cars, got written permission from each manager on every car, good thing I did because those same managers still tryed to deny I had permission when their gonads got in the cross hairs, even though I had their sigs on a contract. Walmart method of doing business is definately slash and burn, any one any time. their method of manager/supervisor control is to keep them on the edge of fireing constantly.

I'm sorry olddude but I will have to disagree with you on the manager methods. They give their employees more chances than most companies would to keep their jobs. To the point that if I was a manager I would go insane with my employees. But I will say they have too many manager spots..... way too many

These are easy to get rid of.....All it takes is a sawzall and some labor and mix them in with your other scrap

I'd still take them maybe try to resell em to another store?

There might be your market if any are still serviceable, try selling some to mom and pop stores; they are expensive for them to buy.

I think even another store would want verification of where you got them.

Why are we even having this discussion of how to get around this so these carts can be STOLEN? Even if Wal-Mart IS the evil empire, these carts still belong to the corporation, and a manager who disagrees and gets rid of them against corporate wishes is destroying a company asset. The person who takes them without authorization is committing theft. I thought we didn't talk about encouraging stealing on here?

It is a fact that if you do this long enough you are going to end up with a shopping cart or two and will need to get rid of them (for example cleaning out someones old shed they may have old shopping carts that have been there for years) These stores may have went out of biz or would laugh at you if you tried to return these old carts....Anyways if you come across some in a legitimate manner just cut them up and scrap the darn things if it's not legitimate leave em alone
