I bought a load of 6 floor scrubbers at auction for a total of $155.00. What I did not know beforehand is that the batteries were gone. (ALWAYS go to the preview when bidding on an electronic auction!)
With no batteries, and after yanking off aluminum, wires, and a couple of motors I got $220.00 as shred, so not a bad return. Could have been great with the batteries!
Nice score. Was there any surprises like a good circuit board or anything?
Not that I could see. This was kind of a churn and burn job for me. I never took them off my truck til I scrapped them, and only removed what I could easily get to with a cordless drill, a wire cutter and a hammer.
I certainly didn't want to handle these big heavy machines any more than necessary, and I didn't want to tie up a lot of real estate in the shop!
I bought two of those things once, and didn't even know it! Batteries, chargers, everything. They were a different brand, can't remember what, think they had a K in it, they were a blue & stainless steel colors, about the same size though. The guy who ran the warehouse where I picked up some auction stuff occasionally asked me if I knew they were there, nope, he laughed and said "these things ain't gonna fit in your lil truck". I looked back at the auction details and a tiny thumbnail had a dark picture of em, barely even see it. By the time I got it figured out found they weighed 800 pounds each and I had to rent a truck with a ramp to get them picked up and unloaded at home without collapsing the ramp. I didn't even have a slab to land them on, so I stuck a 3/4" piece of plywood down and aimed em at it. I topped off the batteries and charged em, checked em out a bit and listed the best one on Ebay. Some guy not far from Akron Ohio won the bidding on it(almost $400 if I remember right). I told him I had 2 and he wanted them both. He finally made it down to Nashville with a trailer (on a snowy weekend) and as we loaded them up I asked him what he was going to do with them, he said "put them to work". It was a while before I heard back from him, about 2 months I believe when he left feedback on Ebay, got an outstanding review.
too bad the batteries were gone! those things are stupid heavy
