Finally my new truck!

so after a lot of debate.. and i mean ALOT i decided to buy a 97 E250 cargo van . the asking price was 550 but the guy decided to godown to 300. i now have the van next steps are to give it the usual oil change flush the radiator blah blah and paint over the old companys decals. the best part about this all thou is that the guy i bought the van from is now partnered with my business. he runs a party tent business and me with my scrap. we work for eachother every now and then and we both advertise each others company when handing out flyers or business cards.

yeah thats the best thing about it if i scrapped it probebly make 150 - 200 dollars and brasscatcher no hes been calling me and canceling idk whats up with him

while you're changing the oil, flushing radiator, good time check/change the tranny fluid too, and the rear end. Also lift the wheels to check for bearing end play, if loose adjust, if dirty, clean them and re-pack. The first thing to do as you're getting your oil etc, is grab a repair manual for that vehicle (it'll pay for itself the first time you use it ) not a bad idea to give it a thorough once over now, to avoid being broke down or crashed later. inspect your steering linkage too for loose/worn steering links, and grease it well. Those have kingpins too which need inspected for play ( by grabing the tire while raised and pulling it side to side to check for play, play here is usually an indicator of loose wheel bearings though) and greased also ( grease fitting above and below the kingpin, the kingpin basically holds your steering wheels on and allows it to swivel)

lol, also good to inspect your driveshaft for loose/worn u-joints and grease them too lol again. You check that all out now and you'll be good to go for miles, if not may be broke soon

I use a 95 E-250 and its an awesome vehicle for scrapping. Good luck with it.

When ever I pick up an older vehicle , the first thing I do , along with oil , oil filter and radiator flush as others have suggested , is replace ALL the Belts and Hoses so I know what I have under the hood , also I don't like to do repairs on the side of the road .
