spliting metal
Now I am new and this is my second post and I am learning things very quickly I have searched this site for information on what I am asking but cannot find anything what I want to know! That is should I split my steel and iron and cans etc or put them all together and is alloy aluminium? may seem stupid questions to the more experienced I know but please be gentle with me I also I know to split my copper but do I put bright thin wire striped from insulation separate to thicker lead pencil thick copper and again split both from copper pipes, thanks for helping me and remember I am no threat to any of you as I am in the uk

Check with your yard and see how they want it separated. Every yard is different and probably is that way on that side of the pond too.

Also much of what is called AL is an alloy of AL, meaning it is a mixture of Al and other metals. Do as Freonjoe said and go to you local yard with what you have and ask them. Not putting you off but in-person instruction is sometimes needed. Mike.
