Intro
Hello
I have operated our recycling business for 6 years on the books. Seen alot of changes. I buy varoius Items at my shop and run a pickup service. I have the equiptment to do large jobs and they tend to be our specialty. Get a lot more work done on a loader than with a jack and a come along! we are up to 4 trucks and trailers now and were growing very rapidly until recently. IN our area there has been a massive increase in those who will scrap a car for the profit if a case of beer. This is pushing us into other areas. Even started using the skid steers for some landscaping to pay bills that the scrap used to. I am here looking for other alternitives in the scrap world. Leaning towards E scrap but we wont take that step unless we can do it right and we are having little luck finding outlest for CRT tubes and plastic.
This is a journey and I am on it. Lets see where we end up.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes we are doing nonferrous as well, but it tends to be side pay. In our area to be compedditive I am looking at .03 or incom per pound wich barely works out to .01 profit with operating expenses. Although if we doubled out intake it would mitigate the overhead costs.
Thanks for the Link. I have a lot to learn. One of my buyers took me under his wing and explained his escrap setup and got me in comntact with his buyer. I expect we will be off the ground shortly in that area but there is still tons to learn. I am hoping to avoid the sharp learning curve I experienced when getting started in steel. I had alot of money walk away in the earley days.
We have a bid in on compleete towers to a school that was giving them away for free. I have to take the CRT monitors as well though and that is posing an issue with the CRT tubes. I need to find a local consumer of the tubes or a way to move them without cost. We have to supply a certificate of compliance, so dumping at the landfill or grandpas back yard isint an option. JK with the grandpas back yard. if we cant do it properly we wont do it.

Rio, where are you located? I'm up on the Northern end myself. Welcome to the forum. If your not too far away I might stop by a see your operation. I think I might know your buyer.

Wow I had to look up Warsaw to see where it was. I am directly south of you near Madison Indiana. I don't have near the operation of the big boys but we are in there. Would love to talk buyers. Shoot me a pm or email.
