NY State free drop-off locations for CRT tubes

Hope this is the right section.

After searching all over the place I finally found where New York residents (not businesses) can turn in the much-hated CRT tubes from monitors and TVs. For free. This is a subject I was quite ignorant on and found it very frustrating trying to get this information. But I hung in there and kept trying.

According to NYS law, computer manufacturers and distributors are required to collect certain residential e-waste items for free. Assuming I read the information correctly, that is. In fact, I was quite shocked to find out that it is actually illegal for refuse collection services to collect curbside e-waste.

Yep Indiana passed the same law on Jan. 1 that no electronics are supposed to go to a landfill.

i have a drop off point 2 miles away from me to drop off crt, i strip them of all goods put back on drive 2 miles. not a bad deal.
