Low alpha lead?
Been on here for about 2 hrs trying to find out about this. I read on the SMJ Facebook page that old prewar lead pipe and flashing is "low alpha" lead and commands a premium price. I have some and was just wondering where you sell it. Previously I had just put all lead in a barrel together and sold it. I'm sure if I go down to my local yard trying to get "low alpha" price they either won't know or admit to knowing about it.
Any tips on this?

I found out a few days ago that the reason why pre war steel is worth more per ton.
The radioactivity issue of steel being exposed to fallout since the bomb that ended WWII.
They use it in the foundations of MRI scanners etc where they don't want a high background of radioactive 'noise'.
