Greetings!
Hi all! I live in Anchorage Alaska. I recycle old tv's primarily. I like the smaller tv's.... I've found that the bigger the tv's, the more the Copper has been replaced with some kind of Copper coated tin or something. Trying to find a good breakdown of a tv. Anyways, I've been doing it for about 6 months. I'm trying to find out how to best determine how something is Copper versus something else. The cone in the tv is supposedly Copper, but there are times when I scratch the wires, they turn out to be possibly something different. Any helpful tips?

Welcome clap. Be sure to do some research and use the search function, LOTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS of threads on tv's and such, should point ya in the right direction.
Happy to have ya here.

I've never seen the yoke "copper" anything but copper, now the degaussing cable is another story.

Thanks, Mech. I scrapped the surface of a yoke last night, and it was showing up shiny silver. I thought I read somewhere that there is a silver colored Copper, mixed with another metal, somewhere in a post here.
