Will hopefully have to be making some room in my storage unit this weekend

Just got a call from a guy who is in the moving business and will be cleaning out an office. According to him he will be getting 40-50 sun microsystems servers. He told me the company he is getting them from has already removed the RAM and CPUs. Would still be pretty sweet.

Meeting him saturday morning where he will have one of the servers so I can have a look and give him a price per unit. He's not shopping around but rather just wants to make sure that the money he will be getting is worth his labour and gas as he has another business to worry about.

Really hoping I can make him an offer that will work for both of us. Could be a great future contact.

Good luck there still alot of boards in there. Computer size 1 lb, anything bigger 2 lbs then you can just count them on up. If you got a small digital scale bring it and a screw driver out there and pop out a board of each type if you have a cool client.

I have good digital scale I use for all my purchases I make like this. 0.1 to 330 lbs, I love that scale.

From what he described I am expecting a 2-3lb motherboard. What you suggested is exactly what I plan to do. I want to be able to give this guy my best possible price and to do this I will need to know exactly what I am getting myself into.

I gambled on another purchase a couple weeks ago and ended up taking a bit of a beating on it, nothing to bad thankfully but stings enough that I don't think I'll be making the same mistake twice lol

I know that feeling very well. I took my licks learning the buying side of e-waste. Now i know better. Best thing i can say is continue to shop around for the best buyer pricing that you can if local even more that you an offer.

Some places are just collection centers for Ewaste and they dont advertise and take many hours of tracking down. but saving on paying shipping charges makes your pocket all the more fat.

I just negotiated myself better pricing with my buyer for motherboards and finger cards on Wednesday when I brought in a few hundred pounds of material :)

Deal made, will probably make a thread tomorrow to show the haul.

It's going to be a lot more that I expected AND he is delivering to my storage unit.
