golf clubs

I picked up numerous irons, drivers and putters yesterday and I already had about 20 putters. Most of these came from a thrift store and they had no luck at selling at 2.00 apiece so I am questioning as try to sell or breakdown.

About half of the clubs have metal shafts and many of the drivers are metal and same with the putters. Are the metal shafts aluminum? And what about the driver and putter heads? Not really accustomed to selling on cl or ebay but willing to give it a shot.

Start with a magnet and go from there. Some club heads are made from beryllium http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beryllium and somewhat popular on Ebay do to the fact that they are not made any more because of toxicity if not handled properly.

I thought the shafts were stainless.

Most are steel shafts I got some old one I'm holding on to for when I start selling on eBay no one in my area on cl is interested in golf stuff

Shafts are most likely stainless steel. I would take all of them to a store like Playitagain Sports, or Golfsmith and see what they offer you. I got $150 for a full set of clubs I salvaged once in trade value which I used to buy a new driver.

If you find any clubs that say Ping (especially Ping eye2) those can be collector's items. I know for a fact that the copper looking heads on Ping Eye 2 clubs sell for a good amount.

All of the shafts are non magnetic as are all of the metal head drivers. I do have a few with wooden heads that appear to have a brass or metal plate on the driving surface. Some of the irons, putters and drivers have non metal shafts and I wonder if I break down and cut the shaft off at the head how I would get the remains of the shaft out of the head if that makes sense.
