Hi All
Hit the streets this Mon , & it's just empty out , I did find a AL grill & 2 TV's , just looking at the neatness of the curb I can tell the new law in the land. I could go and look around on the specified day when other material is out . But not sure if i should ask the local police as if i do then i have to obey as that will be the warning - or just play dumb and get the warning after I reap some rewards.
I see one thing I will have to get a , as the saying goes get a real job as per the public EYE. or create a real metal business . Regardless I will always be a scraper , & always be on the look out for the mother load . These past few years & my being a part of this forum has made me a better person . I have created a severance reserve & i will always find little here & there . Now I will sign off with this post as i have to push on to a fresh start with my metal knowledge.

No not leaving , But I have to re-adapt , See when the money is good, it's real . Weight = $$ and some people will even grimace and act like wow thats good . But the second you have a problem like a change in venue (from the state) now it's like "I don't have a job " from every body's mouth . Like a bunch of vultures (who don't even have the b**ls to eat you any way) waiting to prove scrap is a silly stupid way to earn $$

Copperhead, I have always enjoyed your posts and I have learned alot from you. Lately you have been letting some new law get the best of you. If I recall correctly the city will only pickup tv's and appliances by appointment now...right? That's a major inconvienence to the homeowner and one that I believe you can capitalize on. After all the city isn't going make those appointments after 5:00 or on weekends are they? Write a letter the the editor, call the radio and TV stations, do everything you can to get your name out there (for free) and let the piublic know your plight. My bet is that if you do those things that your phone will be ringing off the hook.
Best of luck to you.

Never guve up. I thing you could turn that law to your advantage by doing what Kris Kringle said. I wish I had an op. to do something like that.

I've always found the best approach is to simply ask. Be it a residence or a business, I always got the same responce "If I hadn't wanted it removed, I wouldn't have put it out there. Just don't leave a mess!". Picked up 300 lbs. of sheet lead that very way back in the day. It was one of the best "return to work" drives after lunch I'd had in awhile. "Ask and yea shall receive" really does work most of the time.

well saturday and today as it was monday, i got 4 tv's and a vacume from two people down the street cause they dont have time to bring them to best buy or good will. I got a call on sat. from two house's down, 3 tvs. and I went to the truck today and heard, Hey! Hey! you want a tv or a vacume? pretty good.

I am making flyer's from the computer - I'll put up at bulletin boards in super markets. and I can even go door to door a bit.
Next though I'll have to see who legally will take any TV's from me, I have a best buy and I have a salvation army . I wonder if they care about the TV's being striped inside ,you know they look normal from the outside. No question I could pay some thing for any white appliance .
