48 foot Box Trailer for scrap

I have a couple 48 foot box trailers I want to get rid of. They are late 80's Great Dane 102" wide 13'6" high and 48' long. They are in good shape and can be hauled over the road. I paid $2000 each for them and want to get at least my money back. They appear to have Aluminum sides and roof but inside wall is cheap 3/8" plywood. Wood floor double axle.
Any ideas what I would get out of these hauled into scrap yard? Im in Bangor Me. area. Should I manually remove aluminum first and is it worth all the work involved?
I think they may weigh around 14,000 lbs from what Ive read but Im not sure.

I just recently did one and if you look through the posts the thread it called "start monster tommorow" It has pics of each stage of the demo and I did one 48ft with one man helping and two trucks and a trailer in a little over 2 days
Yes we cut all the aluminum then removed all wood and cut the frame into pieces.....Made money but didn't get rich

I would think if they are road worthy you should be able to sell them to some farmers up there for storage.

Yeah if he wants his 2000 back he better try to sell for storage....I think the one I did brought around 1500

i bought a 42 footer for $600 a few years back that i use for storage. works perfect for it.

my thoughts for you is if it is road worthy, find a farmer to buy it to store and deliver hay in.

I talked to a local scrapper and he said they get around $2000 for those trailers and $3000 if you break it down. At $200 per ton for vehicles and that weighs 7 ton at least I would think minimum of $1400. There is quite a bit of aluminum which should add some value.
