Howdy everyone
Hello Scrapers!
I have been reading these forums for quite a while of and on, and finally signed up. So as it should be the first order of business was to stop by in this area and do a proper introduction.
I live in eastern Ontario, Canada, and I work as a self employed finish carpenter. I am quite successful as a carpenter, but I suck as a business man. Truthfully between the economy and my lack of business skills I have been finding my job less and less satisfying for some time now.
I have long been interested in recycling for profit. Maybe its just me but I hate to see waste just hauled of to the dump. Not just talking metals here, but all sorts of things like wood, gypsum etc.
I live on a farm, and cleaning up the place is what got me interested in scrapping for money. It was also a good start on learning how to not make what you should at the scrap yard!
Right now I'm seriously looking at doing more scraping to supplement my income. I'm mostly interested in vehicles and ewaste for now.
Anyhow already way to long a post, so to sum up: HI!

Welcome devo...we love those long intro's. Helps us to get to know you better. Most of us learned the hard way about how not to make more at the scrap yard !! Now it's your turn to learn how to seriously make more money. The more you read the old posts along with the new, the faster you will learn. I look forward to watching your progress.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the intro. I'm a carpenter as well but have lost some of the passion I had for it after 20 some years, so now I tinker around with several options and couldn't be happier...Glad you joined us.

Welcome to the forum. Recycling is recycling, metal, wood whatever. I enjoy the challenge and the education to make the most out of whatever find. I look forward to your sharing your experinces, Mike.

Welcome aboard fellow eastern Ontarian! Farms in this neck of the woods are all mini-scrap yards. Oh the potential!

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah the farms around here are just like mini scrap yards, trouble is the farmers think they are mini gold mines. :)
