Curious on something. I been getting a lot of wire from telephone poles from scrapping mobil trailers etc. Why is it all aluminum"? I thought all wire on the poles was copper. I grinder tested everything and sure it enough it melted like copper. What boggles my mind is ya see tweakers climbing the poles for copper wire and its in the papers, but I havnt seen a pole yet with copper wire. Please enlighten me....

Because the one was either intentionally or accidentally set on fire. I cleaned up all debris, kept all the scrappable items, and got paid for clean up. Then he wanted 3 poles down leading from road to the pole. Juice was cut and local power company said not theirs do as I wish. So fired up the chain saw and boom free wire. Poles went to recycling since you cant burn them. And the others were basically same deal. One went to undreground wire and power company didnt want the poles, etc.
I could go on and on, but the point ya looking for, is they were legaly obtained.
Just to add to ozzy's legitimacy. I scrapped out a trailer a while back. Had the same situation, a few poles with line leading too it. After talking to all the necessary people, got the ok. It was weird, because mine was all aluminum as well.
Honestly, can't answer yer question. But i DO know that old trailers sometimes have a few poles leading too them.

Most likely since the trailers are mobil they are just temporary..they use triplex for temp
Actually ozzy, I was thinking that there are lots of mobile home trailers around here. Ones over a certain age the dealers won't take as trade ins. So the owners have to get rid of em. I've done a couple myself. Didn't care for it in the end. After reading your thread I thought maybe I'd missed something and was wondering if I should give it a second look.
