Anybody have any tips for removing a motherboard from a Dell DHM. I have removed all the screws but the motherboard doesn't want to budge. Hopefully somebody here knows a trick for removing this.. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you don't have enough light you can easily miss a screw....can't think of any other reason it wouldn't budge. Maybe soneone else has experienced this.

Can you take a photo of what you are looking at?
I have taken apart severl dell's but perhaps not that one. One thing to look at there are sometimes screws around the cpu chip. The screws holds the frame that hold the Al heat sink. This may be holding the motherboard in. Let us know if any of this stuff helps, Mike.
Ah yes, Dell....They can be a pain...Dell is known for their hidden screws and also having the slide connectors on the boards as well. Miked has the right idea there too...From time to time the screws holding down the frame for the heat sink will anchor the motherboard. The one that I usually miss is right by the RAM slots...I push down the tabs to remove the RAM and end up covering up one of the screws.
There are no visible screws left in the board. There is a green tab at the top of the board but it barely moves and the board in whole barely wants to move. Plenty of light, still can't see anything visibly holding it in. Tried to upload pics but forum is telling me that I am not allowed to yet... Turning into one hell of a night... Think I just need to drink a beer.
You need to take out all the pci slot cards...I.E Modem, video...etc. Then there should be only one screw on the edge of the board(towards hard drive) The motherboard is on a plate so the whole plate slides inwards. can be a pain.. Big screw driver.
Sometimes a stray plastic keeper sticking thru the M.b. otherwise I'd say a hidden screw like was stated.
Don't forget to check the standoff's for being brass also on the older computers.
If it is the kind of motherboard that slides into place and then sort of locks, I learned a trick that saved me a lot of time. Where the motherboard and the case met, where the USB outlets, montior plugs etc were on the outside of the case is where the hangup was much of the time. Make sure there are no hex screws holding the motherboard to the case there (check by the monitor connector), and if not you can bend the metal at the end of the motherboard and break that bond of the case and motherboard. Often this was enough to make it slide out freely. Good luck.
