Started the business in Feb. last year. Chief cook and bottle washer. Got lucky in June and worked a deal getting a continuous amount of good non-ferrous industrial salvage on a regular basis, as well as other pick ups I get locally and in Florida when there. I was pretty pleased at the amount of material I moved by myself last year with little to no help. Close to 25 tons. Looking forward to better year this year. Good luck to all in the business.
25 tons of non-ferrous? That's lot of non-ferrous. I had to call a friend up and ask him what he thought. He said he would assume it was anything from #1 copper down to dirty alluminum. He said that he would assume that you averaged $0.95 per pound on the entire scope of the 25 tons. let me do the math!
25 tons=50,000 lbs
50,000 lbs x $0.95= $47,500
And this is a side job for you? I want in on it!
